I don't think this is the reason, but traditionally in British English saying that a party etc "went down a bomb" meant it was very well received. The American meaning of "bombed", in a negative sense, is a relatively recent importation into British English (I remember finding it odd 20 years ago), but is now pervasive.

2. Because of the whole emocore thing, kids like to throw that in to show how "hardcore" they are. IF you have to convice us you're hardcore, chances are you're really not.

4. Groups can be anything. Cat lovers, Bush haters, writers, smokers, music fans, comedy fans, fans of fans, etc.

I kinda dress "scene" myself but when I meet the majority of ppl who dress like I do (hey, I just like the fashion really) they are . . . sad. No better word than that, really . . . except for maybe "batty".

2) I do believe that "murder" came from the AFI song Miss Murder...? That was pretty popular with the emo and scene kids or whatever. Then the whole stereotypical fascination with that kind of stuff comes into play...
& I do believe I have nothing else to add to your third and fourth question as everyone has pretty much covered them.
