Here is my contribution to spae's Picspam Fest! Warnings for excessive prettiness and also excessive, inane chatter by me - you can skip those bits.
Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo - Season One
Also known as the season in which Tony sports some very ... questionable hairstyles.
Ice Queen (JAG 8x20)
I started off with a 3 pic rule - that is, 3 caps for each episode. That sounded like it was going to be really easy, and it was, at first, especially because the cap quality for the JAG episodes is not fantastic.
1) The basics: Tony's lovely nose with that cute .. I have no idea. Nub. On the left side. And his eyelashes.
2) The whole face - seriously, how pretty? His eyes are so big!
3) Ears. And just the way he looks at people. MW never looks like he's acting, but like he's really in the scene.
Meltdown (JAG 8x21)
1) Slicked back hair! Far too large white shirt and collars left over from the 90s! But he still looks hot. And also, his smile.
2) Switching to serious, in the blink of an eye. I will never get sick of watching him make the change, like he does in this interview.
3) Sleepy!Tony! I watch this little bit over and over, because it's so ridiculously adorable. He looks about twelve!
Yankee White (1x1)
Onto the real stuff - i.e., minus Viv Blackadder. I'll miss her like a hole in the head.
1) What a dull cap, sorry. But he's got a strong jawline, I think was the point.
2) Cheese!
3) So many nice things - his lovely wrist bones, nice watch, his face, and perfectly coiffed hair!
Hung Out To Dry (1x2)
1) Abby's lab! I love the two of them together. Also, checked shirt, fluffy hair.
2) He's just so lean and lovely, here.
3) I shouldn't like that shirt, but I do. His hair is getting just a tiny bit long here. Gorgeous face, as per usual.
Seadog (1x3)
1) Profile! Eyelashes! Nose bump!
2) His hair looks nice here, I think. Kind of preppy. And I just love his little smile to Gibbs.
3) Serious!Tony, questioning the Australians and wearing his hat. I love him in his cap.
The Immortals (1x4)
1) Hair getting slightly out of control here, but he looks great against a green background.
2) Uniform! Also, he looks quite RJ here - Don Bellisario always mentions how he just came off that job, playing Robert Wagner, going into NCIS, and you can see why he was picked for RJ. He just looks very classic film star, a lot of the time.
3) I want to party with this guy!
The Curse (1x5)
1) Seriously, I want more Tony in the forest episodes. Possibly one where he and Gibbs get stranded in the wilderness. Or I could just read fanfic.
2) I adore his slightly tilted left eye. It's really appealing. And just the way he looks when he's being all competent and reporting to Gibbs.
3) Smile! I also like his coat.
High Seas (1x6)
1) That is what Tony looks like when he sees Gibbs pat Stan Burley's face. Adorable.
2) Angry!Tony! Well, he's not so much angry, because Tony seems to be angry about once every three years, but he's forceful and being a really great agent, here. And he looks hot.
3) This is what Tony looks like when he finds out that on Gibbs' scale of affection, he totally beats Burley. And then he shakes Burley's hand! He's like, the nicest jealous person ever. Is there any Burley/DiNozzo fic?
Sub Rosa (1x7)
This is where I lost all strength of mind and starting taking a lot more caps. I don't know, maybe the hair started to win me over, maybe it was the wine I had Friday night, maybe it was the blood donation. Whatever, I decided at this point that I could now cap in multiples of 3.
1) Kate has just spilled Gibbs' coffee - look at the panic! Also, suit! Gun!
2) See, the Jack Nicholson hair is kicking in and weirdly, I started to like it at this point. He has a nice hairline, okay?
3) Flirting with a redhead!
4) I just like this shot. And there's McGee! Checking out Tony's ass.
5) Action!Tony, with gun and sinister hair!
6) Made of awesome! Just after he chucks the stone through the window.
7) I love this scene, when he comes in and plays with Abby's hair, then totally checks her out.
8) Hollywood smile.
9) And just that change to business!Tony again. Nothing hotter.
Minimum Security (1x8)
Definitely a contender for my favourite episode of the season. Tony has really, really cute hair, there are frolics with iguanas, the introduction of Paula, possibly my all-time favourite recurring character, Tony being a player (adorably) and Gibbs cockblocking like a psycho. What's not to like?
1) Look at his hair! It's so long and soft-looking and gel-free!
2) What a nice fringe! It also makes me extremely happy that in the promo photos they've released for S7, MW looks very like he does here. Six years later. He's totally sold his soul.
3) It's a Gulf Stream, and Tony looks gorgeous. Plus, Gibbs tolerating his bouncing around is really cute.
4) Iguana!
5) I couldn't get a good shot of Tony's tummy, but I also have a thing for his shoulders and long arms, and his Sig. Plus, look at his bedhead!
6) I would not hesitate before going home with this man. No matter what my rules were.
7) Seriously, that smile. I just. You'd think I'd have no words. But I just want him to smile like that all the time.
8) I love his jawline here.
9) Tony and Paula! One of my favourite pairings, though sadly not much written about. Their smiles!
Marine Down (1x9)
1) I really hate this turtleneck. I have nothing against the style - that's a lie, actually, I rarely think people pull them off. Tony can, but did he miss the issue of GQ that says not to wear anything that close to the shade of your skin? It either make you look like a donut, or a slut. This, unfortunately, does not do the latter. On the plus side, I like his hairline and his smile.
2) I whole-heartedly approve of this blue shirt, on the other hand.
3) Smile!
4) This expression, just after the other guy walked out and super-predictably got shot, just tugs at my heart. He's so upset, and shocked, and worried. Because Gibbs is about to walk out too.
5) Looking at Gibbs: I got your back. His eyes.
6) I just thought this was cool, even though they seem to be aiming at totally different targets! ;-)
Left For Dead (1x10)
1) Could he look any cuter, or younger? Also, I don't think I've mentioned yet how straight his teeth are.
2) RJ! I like the black turtleneck, and hate the horrible, grey sweater-ish jacket he's wearing. I've coloured the shit out of it, but trust me, it's hideous.
3) I do love the turtleneck by itself though, with the cool grey stripes on the shoulder. Plus, he's so symmetrically pleasing, with pouty lips.
4) Bitch, please.
5) Return of the slicked back hair, but he's doing Jack Nicholson so it's okay.
6) This really isn't a great cap, but I just couldn't get a good shot of him walking away when Gibbs says, "My door's unlocked," and Tony's like, "I know." Great scene though, with Tony all worried about Kate and all soft-voiced, admitting to mistakes in the past. I watch this episode just for this scene.
Eye Spy (1x11)
Either my willpower came back, or Tony just wasn't in as much of these next episodes coming up, but the caps went down again. For a while.
1) A grey turtleneck with a black jacket - I approve! I also approve of tongue!porn!
2) Just after he took a wave for the team. He's got such pretty lips.
3) I couldn't tell you what else happened in this episode off the top of my head, but this shot is all I need to make me love it. How pretty? All flyaway hair and soft eyes and gentle lips. This man turns me into an idiot. If you hadn't already noticed.
My Other Left Foot (1x12)
1) Soft smile, cap!
2) A lot of smiling in this one. Lovely.
3) And the shot that spawned a thousand Sentinel crossover fics. Yay! I love the cool spin he does when he smells the perfume upstairs, and the way he takes his gun out, and the way Gibbs does not question him at all.
One Shot, One Kill (1x13)
1) Village Person Tony!
2) I didn't choose the most effective cap to emphasise how very protective alpha male Tony got when Kate told him Gibbs wasn't wearing a vest, but he really does sound frightening when he's like, "Of all the stupidest things to do..." It's very sexy. And he's eating a sandwich.
3) Action!Tony. He's very much the cool, competent Federal Agent in this episode, and I like the fact that even though he shoots him, he doesn't look like he wants to. It'd be very easy to make Tony trigger happy, but one of the best things about NCIS, I think, is that they don't go around shooting people without thought. Except for Gibbs, maybe, on occasion. But he's Gibbs.
The Good Samaritan (1x14)
1) "Don't even think it." "Too late." :-)
2) Leaning in that nice turtleneck.
3) I am in two minds about this jumper. It's actually a very nice fit, although I didn't take another cap to show it, but I think red is a very brave choice for so orange a squad room.
Enigma (1x15)
1) I do not approve of this turtleneck in the slightest. Stripes are tricky. I think Tony looks like he's having second thoughts about it, too.
2) The leather jacket and I-just-got-blown-up hair and face, though - that's a killer combination.
3) I don't think I had a point to this cap other than general prettiness. But that's a good enough reason.
Bête Noire (1x16)
Also known as the episode in which I die a million happy deaths over the excessive use of Tony's shoulder holster. So. Fucking. Hot.
1) How cute is his preppy little fringe and grin? Super Special Agent!
2) I think this is the first time I really went, oh, Tony looks good in a suit. Because the ones he wore before this were all a little bit estate agent, but this one is nice. Sorry, this has all gone a little bit fashion column.
3) SHOULDER HOLSTER SHOULDER HOLSTER SHOULDER HOLSTER!!!
4) Wow, that's orange. I mean, those walls ... at least you'd never look pale. Wow. I'm really craving some Orangina, now. But Tony is Gibbs' best man!
5) And now this is very, very blue. But I would love to wake up to that face, even if it was with a bullet in my shoulder.
6) There are almost too many things I like about this cap. Tony is crouching for one thing, which I have a total love for, and he has a shoulder holster and he's holding Gibbs up - and just a second later, he helps Gibbs up and Gibbs totally clings to his wrist. And Gibbs himself is wearing an oxygen mask. My H/C button is going mad.
The Truth Is Out There (1x17)
1) Adorable, spiky hair! He also seems vaguely confused.
2) I love this shot. His eyes are just so dark and his jaw is so pretty.
3) Pouty lips! And I like the preppy roundneck sweater.
UnSealed (1x18)
Willpower fading again, but I can hardly be held at fault here because I am on Disk 5 of my boxset, which includes a great many awesome, cappable episodes.
1) His seriously cute, adorable, secret little smile to Gibbs when he tells him Kate sleeps with a gun and Gibbs approves. Also, that's a shoulder holster.
2) Just to reiterate, that's a shoulder holster. And a nice gunmetal green shirt. He looks great in that colour.
3) McGee is being pernickety, because that's a great Tommy Lee Jones impression.
4) Facepalm! OMG, he's so cute. Total puppydog eyes.
5) A subtle arrest in a nice red tie.
6) That's a really bad cap, sorry. I think I needed to make up my "multiples of 3" quota. Still, he has a nice smile.
Dead Man Talking (1x19)
1) His face, at finding out about Pacci. MW really knocks reactions out of the park. I think it shows how much the producers trust his reactions, too, because they're never afraid to let the camera linger on his face. Or they could just be ridiculously obsessed with his face, like me.
2) This is a sad, sad episode, but Tony looks really pretty when he's all upset and dark-eyed and calling McGee "kid".
3) Time to lighten the mood with a little apple-munching.
4) Where has that shirt gone? I demand that the wardrobe department dig that back up and make MW wear it in S7. It's just the nicest colour, and it fits well.
5) That is the private, sweet, smiley little look Gibbs and DiNozzo decide to share when asked if they are together. Clearly, they were not interested in making their questioner think otherwise.
6) Nice profile, gorgeous neck.
7) That smile. I would believe anything that man told me, if I found him looking through my mail on my doorstep.
8) The thing is, obviously Voss/Reed was a total psycho murderer bitch, but that kiss was hot.
9) Looking like he wants to throw up back at the office. I refuse to be dissuaded from my opinion that he is sickened by the thought of kissing someone who murdered his friend, not by kissing a guy. And the concussion, obviously.
Missing (1x20)
Or, the episode that sent me batshit insane. I love this episode so much, because Tony is extremely awesome in it, and pretty and able to take care of himself and pretty and kidnapped and pretty and drugged! It's like the writers sat down and went, let's write an episode that has everything in it that Jules would want.
1) Seriously! Pretty! Also, he just got information by flirting, reminding Gibbs just how good an investigator is even when he's acting like he's a total frat boy.
2) Checked shirt and shoulder holster. Love it! Also, he's scratching his face. I really like it when actors do things like that in shows, because it makes everything feel very real.
3) His eyes. That is just an unbelievable face, right? Who has features like that? Seriously genetically blessed. I also like Abby in this scene, too. "Gallipoli, Gallipoli, Gallipoli." And Gibbs: "Stop it."
4) Not!Sleeping!Tony! With great skin, pretty eyelashes and beautiful lips.
5) LOL! He's just so small! And plays comedy really well. I love his exaggerated gulp!
6) "I don't feel so well." Drugged!Tony, with that little cross-step stumble. H/C button going crazy again.
7) Collapsed!Tony, with added hand!porn. He's got lovely, long, delicate fingers.
8) Competing for my favourite shot of the entire season. His hair looks great - I think it's at a perfect length here - and his lips are pretty, his neck is long, and his eyes are so soft and worried and determined.
9) Eyes. "My father always said I'd end up in the gutter." I hate Tony's father.
10) Awful cap, but the way he slides in front of the gun to protect Atlas is just, so heroic and self-sacrificing and very Tony.
11) His eyes here are just so very ... wild. What I love about this episode is that he had complete faith that Gibbs would come, but that didn't stop him from getting himself and Atlas out anyway. He did his job, because Tony is the job, and he's good at it and he never gives up.
12) "You are irreplaceable." I can't add to that. Gibbs shouldn't have either.
Split Decision (1x21)
1) Eyebrows! I knew there was soemthing I hadn't mentioned about his face yet. Cheekbones, too!
2) Soft expression, shoulder holster. He suits brown, too.
3) Jawline! (Clearly degenerating into just yelling out what I find hottest, at this point!)
4) Leaning. In leather.With sunglasses.
5) How could anyone, ever, resist that face?
6) Gun!porn. He always looks so professional with a gun in his hand. Sig Sauer out means no fucking around with Tony.
7) THAT'S AN EARRING! BE STILL MY BEATING HEART!
8) Spiky hair and a great smile. He looks seriously good this episode.
9) Quite uncharacteristically, letting down his shield in front of Kate and regretting it, then rushing out of the office. Upset because Kate brought up Pacci's killer like a joke, or upset because he's done such a good job of fooling the profiler into thinking he's barely one-dimensional? Whatever, he needs a hug.
A Weak Link (1x22)
Calming down on the caps in the last two eps.
1) Sunglasses, far too cool for school!
2) Nose bump, gorgeous lips, the entire expression!

Reveille (1x23)
1) Sweaty, smiley Tony in the sunshine. It's canon, he runs! Tony as a runner makes me so very happy.
2) Tries to get Kate to lighten up and not worry about Gibbs too much - then look at how worried he is. It pops up in a lot of fics that Tony's banter and joking really keeps the team from losing themselves in the misery of their jobs, and this is totally evidence for that. I also love his brown leather jacket. It's very Dean from Supernatural.
3) Last shot of the 'spam, and I'm going for intense Tony, standing up to Gibbs because he always does, when he thinks it's necessary. And he plays buffer, too, with the rest of the team, because he can handle Gibbs at his worst much better than anyone else can. Or, eyefucking. ;-)

Willpower fading again, but I can hardly be held at fault here because I am on Disk 5 of my boxset, which includes a great many awesome, cappable episodes.
1) His seriously cute, adorable, secret little smile to Gibbs when he tells him Kate sleeps with a gun and Gibbs approves. Also, that's a shoulder holster.
2) Just to reiterate, that's a shoulder holster. And a nice gunmetal green shirt. He looks great in that colour.
3) McGee is being pernickety, because that's a great Tommy Lee Jones impression.
4) Facepalm! OMG, he's so cute. Total puppydog eyes.
5) A subtle arrest in a nice red tie.
6) That's a really bad cap, sorry. I think I needed to make up my "multiples of 3" quota. Still, he has a nice smile.
Dead Man Talking (1x19)
1) His face, at finding out about Pacci. MW really knocks reactions out of the park. I think it shows how much the producers trust his reactions, too, because they're never afraid to let the camera linger on his face. Or they could just be ridiculously obsessed with his face, like me.
2) This is a sad, sad episode, but Tony looks really pretty when he's all upset and dark-eyed and calling McGee "kid".
3) Time to lighten the mood with a little apple-munching.
4) Where has that shirt gone? I demand that the wardrobe department dig that back up and make MW wear it in S7. It's just the nicest colour, and it fits well.
5) That is the private, sweet, smiley little look Gibbs and DiNozzo decide to share when asked if they are together. Clearly, they were not interested in making their questioner think otherwise.
6) Nice profile, gorgeous neck.
7) That smile. I would believe anything that man told me, if I found him looking through my mail on my doorstep.
8) The thing is, obviously Voss/Reed was a total psycho murderer bitch, but that kiss was hot.
9) Looking like he wants to throw up back at the office. I refuse to be dissuaded from my opinion that he is sickened by the thought of kissing someone who murdered his friend, not by kissing a guy. And the concussion, obviously.
Missing (1x20)
Or, the episode that sent me batshit insane. I love this episode so much, because Tony is extremely awesome in it, and pretty and able to take care of himself and pretty and kidnapped and pretty and drugged! It's like the writers sat down and went, let's write an episode that has everything in it that Jules would want.
1) Seriously! Pretty! Also, he just got information by flirting, reminding Gibbs just how good an investigator is even when he's acting like he's a total frat boy.
2) Checked shirt and shoulder holster. Love it! Also, he's scratching his face. I really like it when actors do things like that in shows, because it makes everything feel very real.
3) His eyes. That is just an unbelievable face, right? Who has features like that? Seriously genetically blessed. I also like Abby in this scene, too. "Gallipoli, Gallipoli, Gallipoli." And Gibbs: "Stop it."
4) Not!Sleeping!Tony! With great skin, pretty eyelashes and beautiful lips.
5) LOL! He's just so small! And plays comedy really well. I love his exaggerated gulp!
6) "I don't feel so well." Drugged!Tony, with that little cross-step stumble. H/C button going crazy again.
7) Collapsed!Tony, with added hand!porn. He's got lovely, long, delicate fingers.
8) Competing for my favourite shot of the entire season. His hair looks great - I think it's at a perfect length here - and his lips are pretty, his neck is long, and his eyes are so soft and worried and determined.
9) Eyes. "My father always said I'd end up in the gutter." I hate Tony's father.
10) Awful cap, but the way he slides in front of the gun to protect Atlas is just, so heroic and self-sacrificing and very Tony.
11) His eyes here are just so very ... wild. What I love about this episode is that he had complete faith that Gibbs would come, but that didn't stop him from getting himself and Atlas out anyway. He did his job, because Tony is the job, and he's good at it and he never gives up.
12) "You are irreplaceable." I can't add to that. Gibbs shouldn't have either.
Split Decision (1x21)
1) Eyebrows! I knew there was soemthing I hadn't mentioned about his face yet. Cheekbones, too!
2) Soft expression, shoulder holster. He suits brown, too.
3) Jawline! (Clearly degenerating into just yelling out what I find hottest, at this point!)
4) Leaning. In leather.With sunglasses.
5) How could anyone, ever, resist that face?
6) Gun!porn. He always looks so professional with a gun in his hand. Sig Sauer out means no fucking around with Tony.
7) THAT'S AN EARRING! BE STILL MY BEATING HEART!
8) Spiky hair and a great smile. He looks seriously good this episode.
9) Quite uncharacteristically, letting down his shield in front of Kate and regretting it, then rushing out of the office. Upset because Kate brought up Pacci's killer like a joke, or upset because he's done such a good job of fooling the profiler into thinking he's barely one-dimensional? Whatever, he needs a hug.
A Weak Link (1x22)
Calming down on the caps in the last two eps.
1) Sunglasses, far too cool for school!
2) Nose bump, gorgeous lips, the entire expression!
3) DiNozzo on belay!
Reveille (1x23)
1) Sweaty, smiley Tony in the sunshine. It's canon, he runs! Tony as a runner makes me so very happy.
2) Tries to get Kate to lighten up and not worry about Gibbs too much - then look at how worried he is. It pops up in a lot of fics that Tony's banter and joking really keeps the team from losing themselves in the misery of their jobs, and this is totally evidence for that. I also love his brown leather jacket. It's very Dean from Supernatural.
3) Last shot of the 'spam, and I'm going for intense Tony, standing up to Gibbs because he always does, when he thinks it's necessary. And he plays buffer, too, with the rest of the team, because he can handle Gibbs at his worst much better than anyone else can. Or, eyefucking. ;-)
