Chapter 109: The Comfort of Friends
*Jonas enters*
Jonas: Rayna? What are you doing?
Rayna: Oh…hi, Jonas. *sniff* I’m just…sitting here…
Jonas: Are you okay?
Rayna: *sniff* I’m fine.
*Jonas sits, very concerned*
Jonas: No, you’re not fine…what’s wrong?
Rayna: I don’t want to talk about it.
Jonas: …
Rayna: *suppressed sob*
Jonas: I can’t stand it, please tell me what’s wrong!
Rayna: I’m just stupid, that’s all. If something is wrong I only brought it on myself.
Jonas: What happened?
Rayna: It’s…so embarrassing…
Rayna: I have feelings for someone…and I think he knows it.
Jonas: What’s so bad about that?
Rayna: He’s in love with someone else and that someone else is one of my good friends! He can never feel the same way about me that I feel about him…but…I can’t help it and it’s driving me crazy! *sob*
Jonas: Who is it?
Rayna: *mumbles* Sebastian.
Jonas: You have feelings for Sebastian?
Rayna: I know…I’m crazy! Please don’t tell me…
Jonas: No, it makes sense actually that you’d like him.
Rayna: It does?
Jonas: Yeah.
Rayna: But I don’t want to like him!
Jonas: Love is weird…sometimes you can’t help who you like. But yeah…he’s…not available. You said you think he knows?
Rayna: I’m so dumb, I gave myself away…I’m so humiliated! *sob*
*Jonas pulls Rayna close to him to comfort her*
Jonas: Hey…come on. It will be alright. We’ll figure something out…please don’t cry…
*Rayna continues crying quietly*
*Zander, walking by, sees Rayna and Jonas*
Zander: Hmmm…that’s…interesting…
Elsewhere…
*Shiloh and Hawk have met up again after work*
Shiloh: How was your day?
Hawk: It was good, but I’m glad to see you.
Shiloh: Do you want to make more plans for our camping trip this weekend?
Hawk: Actually…I need to tell you something first...
Shiloh: *suddenly worried* Is…everything okay?
Hawk: Yeah, everything is fine.
Shiloh: Is this about what was bothering you earlier today?
Hawk: Yes…but it’s not what you think. I just need to tell you a story about my adventures with a crazy lady named Sabrina…

Second, if you follow my photo story, here is a sneak peek of one of my future characters and what part she will be playing...
Here is Kiki showing off her small, but diverse, store called "The Sweet Shoppe". It's a gift shop, but she also sells homemade baked goods and lots of miscellaneous nik-naks. She can special order just about anything not in stock and she caters small parties on the side.
Interestingly enough, one person in my story has already met her when they discovered her store and bought something there. In a future chapter this person will visit Kiki's store again (having been impressed with it during their first visit) and get to know Kiki a little bit better...so stayed tuned for that :D
Until then I'm to work on adding extra details to the store and attempt to find it a more permanent location, etc.
Third (non-dolly related), it's Thanksgiving tomorrow...yay! And the dishwasher broke...boo! I'm not ashamed to admit that I depend on modern appliances...a lot. The thing has been threatening to break down for a while, but it really chose the most inconvenient time to actually stop working. On Thanksgiving Day we dirty more dishes, pans, etc. in this house then on any other day. I usually run the dishwasher at least twice and sometimes three times during the course of the day. The thought of hand washing all of those dishes really put a damper on what otherwise would be a really fun day. So, my husband bought a new one today. When factoring the cost of fixing it (parts plus labor), just buying a new one really wasn't that much more...and the old one is 10 years old anyway. He is working on installing it now, I'm staying out of his way :P He hasn't sworn at it yet but there is always time, heh (his joke). I just hate large and unexpected expenses like this...*sigh*
Anyway, Happy (early) Thanksgiving! Once the dishwasher is finished being installed I'm going to have to get to work cooking stuff...yum :D
