Roxanne: I know it’s none of my business, but I have to ask…what was going on with you and Hawk at the ball?
Shiloh: Your guess is as good as mine.
Roxanne: Did you enjoy dancing with him?
Shiloh: Yes…until he left…
Roxanne: For a minute I thought…er…that he was going to kiss you.
Shiloh: *blush* So did I.
Roxanne: But he didn’t.
Shiloh: There was another time I thought he might kiss me, too.
Roxanne: Really?
Shiloh: I thought I had imagined it at the time, but now I’m not so sure. I don’t know what he wants.
Roxanne: What do you want?
Shiloh: *blush*
Roxanne: It’s okay, you can tell me. I won’t tease you…much.
Shiloh: *small smile*
Roxanne: Well?
Shiloh: You were right, okay? Please don’t say “I told you so”.
Roxanne: I was right? Oh…Shiloh, I’m happy for you!
Shiloh: …
Roxanne: You aren’t happy?
Shiloh: I don’t think he feels the same way about me.
Shiloh: He’s my best friend. I never meant to feel more, I really just wanted to stay his friend…but I don’t know what happened. I’m so confused…

Lucas: Nika, there you are! Why did you leave the ball early?
Annike: As if you don’t know.
Lucas: I don’t know.
Annike: Don’t play stupid with me…I know what you did!
Lucas: What did I do?
Annike: I can’t believe you are pretending like you don’t know!
Lucas: *shifts uncomfortably*
Annike: I was right; I told you it would happen. I’m just a fool for thinking you might have changed after all your sweet talk while we were dancing…gah! I’m such an idiot!
Lucas: *gulp* You saw me?
Annike: Yes, I saw you…and her…really enjoying yourselves. Were you thinking you could just pretend it never happened and it would all be fine? You really are deluded, aren’t you?
Lucas: Nika…I’m sorry…I really am. You have to believe she doesn’t mean anything to me…but you do!
Annike: And that’s supposed to make it okay? You can just go on and kiss any girl you want because they don’t mean anything to you? Give me a break.
Lucas: Please-
Annike: No! Just go away…I don’t want to see you any more…ever…
