Chapter 50:
Annike: *sigh* So, Lucas…what are you going to do now?
Lucas: I don’t know, but I want to leave this place as soon as possible.
Annike: *scandalized* Why?
Lucas: Pfft…I don’t like it here. It’s…boring.
Annike: *shakes head* You really haven’t changed, have you? I should have known better.
Lucas: What do you mean?
Annike: You always were looking for constant entertainment and never ending stimulation. You can’t be happy where there is peace and quiet.
Lucas: *shrugs shoulders* I guess not. What’s wrong with that?
Annike: Well, nothing I guess. But geez, you could at least try to give it a chance…for a change.
Lucas: You sound just like Hawk… *sees Hawk approaching* …and speak of the devil…
*Hawk enters*
Hawk: Aren’t you going to introduce me to your friend, Lucas?
Lucas: Hawk, this is Nika. Nika, this is Hawk…he’s an old friend, too, but I haven’t known him as long as you.
Annike: Hi…and it’s Annike, not Nika. Lucas is the only one who ever calls me that and I barely tolerate it.
Hawk: *smiles* Nice to meet you…Annike.
Lucas: Are you still mad at me, Hawk?
Hawk: Maybe. Are you still complaining about this place?
Lucas: No, I-
Annike: Liar. You just said it was boring here and you wanted to leave!
Hawk: Typical.
Lucas: Maybe I should just leave since it’s so obvious I’m not wanted.
Annike: Maybe if you’d shut up for a minute I can show you why this place it nice.
Lucas: Huh?
Annike: Come on…I’ll show you…
Hawk: *sees someone in the distance* I’ll see you guys later, I see someone I want to talk to.
Lucas: See you, Hawk.
Annike: Bye!
*Hawk approaches Shiloh*
Hawk: Hi!
Shiloh: *blush* Hi, Hawk!
Hawk: Hey, I really had fun the other night…I hope you did, too.
Shiloh: Oh yes! Thanks for taking me. *smile*
Hawk: We should do something fun again sometime.
Shiloh: You really want to?
Hawk: Of course! We’re friends, aren’t we?
Shiloh: Yes. Yes, we are.
Hawk: Then let’s go do something now, do you have time?
Shiloh: Sure! I just got off work.
Hawk: How about I take you for a ride in my airplane?
Shiloh: Your…airplane?
Hawk: Yeah, I’m a stunt pilot, but I promise I won’t do any stunts with you in the plane.
Shiloh: No stunts.
Hawk: No, just regular flying. Come on, it will be fun…I’m a very safe pilot.
Shiloh: I trust you and it does sound fun.
Hawk: Let’s go then!
*They walk away together*
