Chapter 458: Future
Grace: You seem happier lately…more relaxed.
Wolfgang: Yes. Ever since you told me about your husband…well, it just dawned on me that I was probably worried about nothing. Sorry about that before…
Grace: Hey, it’s alright.
Wolfgang: *smiles* I know you understand.
Wolfgang: There’s something I need to talk to you about.
Grace: Okay.
Wolfgang: Let’s sit here.
Grace: Sounds serious…
Wolfgang: Bailey said something to me the other day and…well…
Grace: Was it bad?
Wolfgang: No, nothing like that. I just don’t want to scare you away.
Grace: It won’t.
Wolfgang: She asked me…if you could be her new Mommy.
Grace: Oh…
Wolfgang: I wanted to tell you before she asked you herself and caught you off guard.
Grace: *laughs* Yes, little kids can do that.
Wolfgang: But it did get me to thinking…I mean I started dating because I wanted to meet someone…but I also hoped someday I could find Bailey a Mom. She does need one.
*Grace nods*
Wolfgang: So…I’m wondering…do you think there is a possibility we could have a future together?
Grace: *speechless*
Wolfgang: I was afraid I might scare you…
Grace: I’m not scared, just surprised. I sort of gave up thinking I would find somebody else I might spend my life with. And now…
Wolfgang: So you do think we might have a future together?
Grace: Yes.
Wolfgang: I mean, there’s no rush. I’m not looking for a commitment right now. I just wanted to make sure we were thinking the same way.
Grace: I think we are.
Grace: After we started dating I tried not to get my hopes up…but I really wanted it to work. You and Bailey make me very happy.
Wolfgang: I love you.
Grace: *smiles* I love you, too!

Just so there isn't any confusion, this isn't a marriage proposal or anything like that. Wolfgang just wanted to know if Grace might possibly be in this relationship for the long run, for the sake of Bailey as well as himself. Now remember Grace ended up dumping Jonas because he wasn't interested in "the future" or any kind of commitment like marriage, so the fact that Wolfgang is interested in these things makes her really happy...and relieved. ;)
