Chapter 445: Change and Chance
Avery: I rearranged that new inventory in the back like you asked. Anything else?
Taryn: No, thank you. You can go home.
Avery: Okay, see you tomorrow then.
Taryn: Oh…wait up for a minute! There is something else I need to talk to you about…
Avery: *slightly worried* Okay…
Taryn: Don’t worry, it’s nothing bad...I think…
Avery: Go on.
Taryn: It’s about Kiki…
Avery: I haven’t seen her around lately, is she okay?
Taryn: Yes, she’s fine. But she had to leave suddenly with her husband. Her move is likely permanent.
Avery: Oh…the store!
Taryn: Yes…I don’t want you to worry about your job. The store is going to stay open. I’m the new owner.
Avery: Wow, really?
Taryn: Yeah. It’s just things might be a little…strange…around here, until I can figure out what I’m doing.
Avery: Oh, I’m sure you’ll be great. And I’ll help you with anything you need.
Taryn: Thank you. In fact, if you are willing, I might be able to give you more hours.
Avery: I wouldn’t mind that at all. I like working with you…I think you’re the nicest manager I’ve ever had.
*Taryn blushes*
Taryn: Kiki taught me everything I know about running a store.
Avery: She must have been a great teacher. But I’m sorry to say I never got to know her very well, she hasn’t been around much since I stared working.
Taryn: Yeah, she wasn’t feeling well. Anyway, I just though you should know about these changes and to assure you that your job is secure.
*Avery smiles*
Elsewhere…
*Wolfgang has arrived to pick up Bailey from preschool*
Bailey: Hi, Daddy!
Wolfgang: Hi, sweetie. How…was the library?
Bailey: It was so neat. They have so many books!
Bailey: Will you take me there again, Daddy?
Wolfgang: Um…we’ll see. Let’s go home for dinner, okay?
Bailey: Okay.
Bailey: Bye, Miss Grace!
Grace: See you tomorrow!
*Wolfgang and Bailey leave*
Graces: *frowning* Hmm…Wolfgang is awfully distant. He didn’t even talk to me! I don’t care what he says, something is bothering him…I wonder what it could be?

Just a basic chapter really. Taryn and Avery talking over the changes with the store and more withdrawn-ness (yes, I know that's not a real word) from Wolfgang. I will explain what is bothering Wolfgang very soon but the next chapter will feature Ivy and Gideon. ;)
