Chapter 418: Dinner Date
*Grace has just arrived at Wolfgang’s place*
Bailey: Miss Grace, you’re here!
Grace: I sure am. Thanks for having me.
Bailey: Come on, Miss Grace! I’ll show you to the kitchen…follow me.
Grace: *smiles* She’s so excited.
Wolfgang: She’s glad you’re here…and so am I.
*Wolfgang reaches for Grace’s hand*
Wolfgang: Come with me…
Grace: I’m glad to be here, too. Thank you for doing this, Wolfgang.
A few hours later, after dinner…
Bailey: But…Miss Grace, do you have to leave already?
Grace: I’m afraid so.
Bailey: Why?
Grace: I have to teach preschool tomorrow. I need to go sleep.
Wolfgang: Speaking of sleep…
Bailey: I know. I got to go get ready for bed. *sigh*
Grace: I’ll see you tomorrow.
Bailey: Bye, Miss Grace.
*Bailey wanders away leaving Grace and Wolfgang alone*
Grace: Thank you so much for having me. I had a great time.
Wolfgang: It went well. You were right about Bailey…her seeing us together was no big deal.
Grace: The two of you have such a great relationship. It’s really nice to see.
Wolfgang: She is my life.
Grace: I know.
Wolfgang: But…you’re important to me, too.
Grace: I am?
Wolfgang: Yes.
Grace: I look forward to seeing you every day.
*They smile at each other and get closer*
Bailey: Daddy?
Grace: Uh oh…
*Grace slowly tries to push away from Wolfgang*
Wolfgang: *whispers* It’s okay…we aren’t doing anything wrong.
Wolfgang: Do you need help, Bailey?
Bailey: I ran out of toothpaste.
Wolfgang: You can use mine.
Bailey: Thank you, Daddy.
*Bailey leaves again*
Grace: I’m sorry…
Wolfgang: Really, it’s okay.
Grace: I should go home.
Wolfgang: Not just yet…
*They smile at each other again*
Grace: *teases* Now can I go home?
Wolfgang: Well…okay. Can I see you tomorrow?
Grace: Absolutely. I’m counting on it.

Okay...so for this chapter I know I kind of skipped over the whole actual date. The thing is I just don't have the set up for that kind of thing. No kitchen, dinner stuff, table and chairs...nope. So just use your imagination about what actually happened there. Mostly just getting-to-know-you-better kind of things, along with a kid (who was not weirded out by it at all really). So it's just the beginning and end of the date, it's like those parts took place in an entry hall or something. Anyway, like the sappy ending? Well, I did. :P
Wolfgang likes Grace a lot, and it helps that Bailey is fond of her, too. ;) More with them later, the next chapter will move us in another direction for a bit...
