Chapter 244: Apologies
*Ronan enters “The Sweet Shoppe” feeling very uncomfortable*
Kiki: *surprised* Ronan…can I help you?
Ronan: Yes, Miss Kiki. I…wish to speak to you.
Kiki: Oh…okay…
*Ronan fidgets and doesn’t say anything, Kiki and Sebastian look at each other wondering what to think*
Ronan: *takes a deep breath* Miss Kiki, I owe you an apology.
Kiki: For what?
Ronan: For not treating you like the lady you are. And also for attempting to exclude you from the party for Hawk and Shiloh that you were meant to be invited to in advance.
Kiki: Oh…that…
Ronan: I also once suggested that you were not worthy to be with Sebastian… *he glances warily in Sebastian’s direction* But I was wrong…
*Neither Kiki nor Sebastian quite know how to respond to this*
Ronan: I am trying to do better, Miss. I came to realize, with the help of a friend, that I need to apologize. I am very sorry.
Kiki: Apology accepted.
Ronan: Thank you.
*Ronan turns to leave*
Sebastian: Ronan…
Ronan: Yes?
Sebastian: Thank you.
*Ronan nods and leaves*
Outside…
*As Ronan leaves the store he runs into Sabrina*
Sabrina: So you decided to apologize after all? That took a lot of guts.
Ronan: Yes…you were right. I thought about it and knew I needed to do it.
Sabrina: Well, I won’t say I told you so…but I did.
Sabrina: And how’s your conscience now?
Ronan: Better…almost perfect.
Sabrina: What do you mean?
Ronan: I believe I owe you an apology as well.
Sabrina: Why?
Ronan: When we were both still living in the kingdom, I was not as nice to you as I should have been. I see now that I completely misjudged you.
Sabrina: Oh…well…that was a long time ago. You don’t need to apologize.
Ronan: Perhaps not, but I will feel better if you permit me to. I allowed Sebastian’s feelings about you to influence me. I need to stop following his lead and decide things for myself.
Sabrina: Well…it’s about time you figured that out. Why do you worry about what Sebastian thinks so much anyway?
Ronan: I was taught to serve the royal family and reverence them…I know it matters not now, but old habits die hard.
Ronan: May I ask you…why do you dislike Sebastian so much?
Sabrina: I don’t dislike him.
Ronan: But you do! I don’t understand why, he is the one who gave you a chance when no one else would.
Sabrina: That’s just it! I don’t like feeling like I owe him, or anyone, anything!
Ronan: I see…
Sabrina: I don’t want to talk about Sebastian anymore.
Ronan: Will you at least accept my apology?
Sabrina: Yes…that’s…nice of you.
Ronan: Thank you.
Sabrina: Enough of this mushy stuff, let’s get back to work.

Just a reminder that Sabrina and Sebastian are cousins...and no, Sabrina doesn't like him much, but the feeling is mutual from Sebastian's point of view as well. It's just one of those ongoing family dynamic things that really has no reasonable explanation. :P

He is very handsome. :D
I'm actually going to make a few minor changes to him very soon so keep an eye out for that... ;)
