So, in reading over a lot of permissions polls, I've noticed that people tend to say 'please ask me before your character reads my character's mind!' Which is very understandable.

However. River does not get to choose to read your characters' minds. This more often than not sucks for her. She can probe more deeply into people's minds, but she

Enjolras is pretty much a free-for-all -- i.e. a lock isn't even necessary.

And Tatsumi is pretty shielded most of the time, but if a situation is one where he'd be in less control of his thoughts/emotions, feel free to get a read on him (again, lock not necessarily, er, necessary).

Anon's the touchy one, heh! I have the permissions meme in _higher_'s journal, but generally speaking, it would probably be for the better for the both of us if we kept Anon and River from ever really interacting, given the nature of both of the characters and the fact that they could possibly set off an emo bomb, which I don't want to throw at Simon or Mal.

Avoiding Anon = A+++. I'd imagine that he feels like a black hole of sucking terror and sugar candy to River, and the Firefly cast emos enough, really.

Okay, so. Hanajima used to be kind of like River, what with hearing people's thoughts whether she wanted to or not. Now she's figured out how to somehow not do that, but I'm not sure if whatever it is that prevents other people's thoughts from coming in also prevents her thoughts from going out.

If River can read her mind, please ask before saying anything about Hanajima's emo past (in a nutshell, everyone thought she was a freak and she could hear them thinking that she was a freak and then one time she nearly killed this boy with her mind and felt horribly guilty about it for years), which River will doubtless remind her of. Less because I don't want people finding out and more because sometimes I'm not in the mood to play with that.

Hyatt's fair game, as long as we stick with surface thoughts because beyond that even I'm not quite sure what's going on in her mind.
