That right there reeks of butthurt to me. Idk, but I think that's kind of rude to tell his fans to lighten up when he takes a complete left turn into a branch of music that a large part of his fan base typically doesn't listen to or like.
It kills me to agree with you, since as a rule I respect this guy so much.
He goes on in that interview to talk about his distaste for 'standing still' artistically, and how a left turn like that is better than putting out a clone of his previous album. I agree to an extent; growth is part and parcel of being an artist. However, I think I as a fan would have dealt with it better were it a more incremental movement.
Like I said though. I'll give it a couple more spins. See how I feel then. It could very well be that 90's nostalgia I induced in Katt (and she reciprocated) has me a little blind.
