I really, really love my school.

Today, a dicussion in my Chaucer class shifted gears  in to looking at James Bond (specifically Craig!Bond) and Jason Bourne as Knights within our modern context.

No. Seriously.

Forgive any butchered history from this point on, but trust me on the literature. I know my stuff there.

The idea of tamed violence? Those we ( Read more... )

Ugh, I wanna go see Quantum of Solace sooooo bad but the only person who would go see it with me wouldn't probably wouldn't like it because it isn't up to her artsy tastes. Which means I'll probably end up waiting until Thanksgiving break to go see it.

James Bond? Not artsy enough? SACRELIGE I SAY.

If I were out your way, or you out mine, you bet your ass I'd go with you. Alas. We shall have to settle for online fangirling for now.

Hee! Crazy prof is crazy. And wonderful.

I know, I know, but she's the type where unless it's raved about by EVERYONE as a classic, golden-age movie, she doesn't like it. It's frustrating as hell since she was kind of "meh, I liked it" about The Dark Knight too.

Speaking of Mr. Bond, I got into the tv room at school today and USA network is on. 3 hour marathon of Pierce Brosnan era James Bond. Watched the end of Goldeneye (which was great because I recognized more things about the movie from the video game than previous viewings of the movies) and the beginning of The World is Not Enough. I was a very happy spy-movie fangirl.

Now, this could just be because I fangirl the Nolanverse like WHOA, but SRSLY. WTF.

That would have made me happy too. Now I feel like curling up with "Casino Royale" and a glass of wine or something. Once I do a little more homework, I just might indulge.
