This was perfection. All the tiny things, each one awesome. The way they lie without expecting to deceive, leave everything they can to simmer under the surface until it cools down, the way they care for each other, check each other's wounds, treat this all like a normal day because in their world, it is this harsh and you don't outgrow your comfort objects when they're things like bows in easy reach and a knife right by the bed. Wow. I felt like I peeked in on the two of them and saw them being utterly real, with themselves, each other, defenses down, and only that wary guard that really doesn't seem to go away.

I was hoping you'd find something good in that morass of me scrounging for prompts with little more than my favorite book of poems handy. You didn't just find something good; you made something amazing.

You really need to see me right now. I'm seriously giddy and am alternating between typing and clamping my hands over my mouth.

I wanted to write crack of these two. I really did. I saw the Tupperware party prompt and...
...and I couldn't help it. These two are broken, and break me. Argh.

Comfort objects and wounds and unnecessary lies...you saw it all. Stripped of everything except their sense of self-preservation, and YES. I have no idea how these two hit so hard and so fast, but they did, and I'm so pleased I was able to not only create something surrounding them, but create something that others (and people I admire!) enjoy just gets me right here in the emotions.

You didn't just find something good; you made something amazing.

My theory about your writing, why it gets me, is it's so out there honest. It doesn't exaggerate either and that makes the blows hit harder. I get to react on my own because there's no authorial reaction. These ones in particular, Niko and Collie, hit me so much harder because they don't react and it makes me not just react but react for them.

Though if you ever write some crack!fic in the universe, I'm all eyes, sistah!
