GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT.
School was called off again thanks to ice on the roads. Unfortunately, no-one called me or the co-worker who gave me a ride. We made the discovery based on the empty parking lot at the school. Joy of joys. We called the VP, who apologized profusely for our being overlooked (apparently the phone tree is indeed

Did the application. Apparently, you had to go through it in one go. Okay, fine, I did. Apparently, I didn't need references. But the application asked for them. Weird, but okay, and I really hope that my references come through should they actually be needed. I also, apparently, didn't need a statement of intent for this part of the program. Okay, awesome. And then, once I'd gone through everything, paid my money for the application, paid for a transcript from my old university to be sent, it said that I had to be sure to include a statement of intent in my online application. Which had been submitted. And where there had been no place to upload or include one.
Gah. I sent an e-mail to the advisor I'd been in touch with, and hopefully she'll clear stuff up. Right now I'm just antsy, jangly-nerved, and hoping things do indeed work out.

Sorry to dump that on you, but needed to get it out.
Aaaaaand time to go get lost in a book, methinks. Distraction is a cure for nearly everything.

You, on the other hand, are insanely lucky. I like your automated system much better. And your 70 degrees. We've got ridiculously icy roads right now, which makes it unsafe for teachers and school buses to drive them.
I DID. AND IT FEELS WONDERFUL.

I saw in the comments about how it didn't ask for a statement online, and then told you that you needed one after you had already submitted everything (grrr argh); have you gotten any news about that weirdness yet?

Actually, yes. It all got cleared up. I was contacted by an advisor, and they told me that what went wrong is I applied to the MEd program directly. I'd thought you had to apply for your final goal, but apparently this was not the case. I had to apply to the certificate program first, and then work my way up. Said advisor clicked a button, adjusted it, and wished me well.
I am beginning to like this university a lot.
