What the actual hell?

I'd planned to set aside all of today to get planning for tomorrow done. Friday night and Saturday were days for me. Movies, grocery shopping, all that jazz. Sunday was going to be work day.

I woke up at seven, made coffee, and sat down to get started on everything.

I have everything ready for all five of my classes tomorrow -- ( Read more... )

All I can say is that the demand on your plans must not be nearly as fiddly as for mine - strict format, list of things to include, it's completely insane - and by that, you are GREATLY BLESSED!

I suppose so. I have a strict outline that I personally follow, but I'm allowed to play fairly fast and loose in terms of format. It's a relief compared to what I had to do in teacher training: a mandatory format for every. Single. Class. Not just a day plan, but a whole, detailed, page-long plan for each class you're teaching.

I am blessed. And it feels bizarre. I'm ready to go, and yet I feel like I haven't done the work...even though I have. I really need to stop arguing with myself.

May I ask what your lesson plans look like?

a whole, detailed, page-long plan for each class you're teaching. This is what they demand of us where I am. Even if you've been teaching years and years.... (There's not much respect for teachers in the USA, I must say.)

I'll message you a copy of my lesson plans. I cheat some. I don't use the format they want us to use, because I refuse to type useful plans for my students and myself (what you'll get) and then follow it up by filling in the blanks on a ludicrous form.

Got your message. Danke! It was actually some very interesting reading.

Up here, teachers form 'federations' based on the province you're located in. They're not supposed to be unions, but they function like it (at least in British Columbia). Thankfully, I'm working at an independent school, which means I don't need to take part in their politics. Oy.

Are you sure? Because I'm pretty sure at some point Pam Landy & Nick Fury talk shop.

My reading plans for 4 of my five groups are done for the week minus some flash cards I need to make. Math for my three groups though? Not so much.

Math. Argh. That was officially my worst subject in school. I cannot imagine trying to teach it to ANY level of student.

Good luck to you. *hugs*
