The State Of The Book
(Or, Reading Shit That You Probably Won't Care About)
In order to give you some context, you should know that I have a tendency to have three, potentially more books on the go at one time. I've finished thirteen so far this year, and my goal is to hit 100 by the time it's over.

I remember borrowing "Arm of a Starfish." I remember opening the the book. I remember putting it down after I finished, shaken for some reason I must have blocked. I should revisit this & figure out why.

I can probably pinpoint why.

I could spoil it for you, but I think you should pick it up and try again.

At this point, I basically re-read the Hunger Games Trilogy when I'm out of things to read, or when I want to remind myself of the perfidity of politicians, or when I want to remind myself that things could certainly be worse (and sadly, will probably get that bad in my lifetime). Great literature it most assuredly is not.

I adore Arm of the Starfish. I hope you like it.

Do you have the complete OaFK? I guess you must, or you wouldn't have mentioned The Ill Made Knight. :) For a brief while, they published only the first section of the five, and used the entire title for one-fifth of the novel. I really do love the love between Wart and Jenny and Lance. LOVE.

Also, I wrote nearly a 1000 words tonight. Just sayin'.

Let's go sparkle! :D

L'Engle was absolutely my favorite author as a kid, even beating out C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. I got CRAZY-excited when I heard she was going to host our school fashion show. Then, it turned out to be some local skinny blonde society wife bitch with the same name. I was CRUSHED. And forever embittered against the fashion industry! :P

(I clearly suffer from premature Enter-itis.)

OaFK just enchants me so thoroughly. Though I'm not at all a fan of Morgan le Fay's castle, or the abuses of Morgause on her poor neglected barbarian sons.

You can dooo eet!
