Go tell yourself that I'm long gone, 'cause here is what I'll do.

1) I <3 Seth Lakeman's music. A lot.

He apparently does fiddle-offs with his brother that are mindblowing. I've yet to find one on youtube, though I hold out hope. In the meantime, have another hit of Lakeman. Boyfriend is literally steaming as he plays, and you need to watch to the very end to see just how good he really is at working that fiddle ( Read more... )

Whyfore do you keep introducing artists that I cannot get enough of to me? Granted, this was incidental but . . . So, any particular song rec's for him? Am loving what I'm hearing.

In re: Books
Blasphemy! There is no such thing as too many books. Never. It just means you need a smaller living area. Though, tbh, I'm pretty sure that's why I can't walk in my own room without hurting myself. A worthy sacrifice, if painful. How big are your bookcases, btw? And the closet in question, for that matter? It might just be worth it to convert it, if only to save yourself from fire and physical hazards. As to if it would be enough room . . . Well, I doubt you'll ever stop buying books. There will never be enough room. Ever.

Re: Seth Lakeman
I am an evil, evil music enabler, and these kind of reactions make me giddy with enabler glee. ;)
Dangerous, dangerous question, asking for recs. Especially for Seth Lakeman. *rubs hands together*

"The Colliers" is really good both live and the actual album cut.

"Cherry Red Girl" is lovely, though if you want melancholy, you can't go wrong with "Farewell my Love".

I adore "See Them Dance" as well, especially this performance. About a minute and a half in, you really start to see him get into it, and it's just a joy to watch.

I could babble about this guy forever right now. I'm becoming such a dork for him it's not even funny.

Re: Books
Of COURSE there's no such thing as too many books! My only problem is giving them all a good home. The Complete Works of John Milton should not be forced to live on a dresser. It starts making eyes at my sign language dictionary.
And fair enough, there will never be enough room, but what I need is enough room for NOW, until I get my own place and can put bookcases everywhere.

1. Dude can fiddle. I'm surprised there was any hair left on the bow.

2. Heh. Fiddle. Sorry I'm a total child.

3. Oh dear do I love that tag.

1. Hellz. Yes. The first song I heard by him was "The Colliers", and I fell in love. Then I heard him actually fiddle, and then it was a hopeless case. I love watching really intense instrumentalists; fiddlers especially.

2. All of us are living in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. Then there are those of us lying face down blowing bubbles in the muck and mire. Welcome to the dirty mind club.
TL;DR? Heh. Fiddle.

3. I love it too, and I am forseeing a good deal of usage. Sigh.

For some reason I am picturing a lemonade stand. A lemonade stand with a carnival barker yelling 'Get your first borns here!!!'

My brain clearly hates me.

If your brain hates you, what does it say about mine that I actually cackled out loud at that image and kind of love it?

Hmm. Seth Lakeman can work his hands, feet and mouth at the same time.

*sits back in the gutter*

More of Seth Lakeman in action -- "See Them Dance", in which we do in fact see him move it.

Just sayin'.

Is this revenge for the JGL-as-amusician spam? If so, I have been a naughty girl & need to be punished.
