There was a point in my life where I could quote Good Omens at the drop of a hat. I would like to go back to those times.
I was torn between confronting her about the whole "YOU ARE SO UNDERAGE FOR THAT, MISSY" At least it wasn't straight out pr0n. ;) But really, if she could understand Fight Club well enough to understand how to mimic it? BONUS. This is a reader you want to nurture.
I love that book so. My paperback is worn out, and I adore the British audio edition I have on my iPod. It is most certainly my feel-good book.
AT LEAST. Thank goodness. I was so excited reading it -- this girl is the last person I would have suspected of being a Fight Club fan, never mind actually having that kind of writing skill too. Pleasant surprises all around! I showered her with much, much praise.
No problem! Hope at least something seems interesting enough to at least try.
Knowing Viggo my love Mortensen is in the movie adaptation can only recommend The Road more. ;) This is the same guy who wrote No Country for Old Men, yes?
I remember finishing The Gunslinger during my summer vacation after Gr 8 but I can't remember how I felt about it. I may have to pick it up again.
Jessica Darling series are at the top 10 of my docket; the whole series being one entry. ;)
It is indeed the same guy. (I really, really need to see the movie adaptation of 'The Road'. I've been hesitant as I'm afraid it'll ruin the book for me.)
The fangirl in me says try it again. She's kind of crazy though, so I'd take what she says with a grain of salt.
AHAHAHAHAHA. Did I ever mention that I e-mailed McCafferty thanking her for writing those books, and she wrote back thanking me for bothering to read them? Woman is awesome. Her books are as well.)
Well, I've already read The Road and everything by Christopher Moore (omg, I have loved him ever since I read A Dirty Job when I was in high school <33) So, probably the Jessica Darling series. But all of them, really.
Christopher Moore just released a new book -- "Bite Me". It follows "Bloodsucking Fiends" and "You Suck: A Love Story", and looks like it's more centred around Abby, but I don't know. I want it like burning.
YES. GO. Read the Jessica Darling series. And report back if/when you do. I only know one other person who has read them, and that's the girl who turned me on to the series in the first place. I'd love another person to read and enjoy them, or just to read them and discuss them with me.
