This is my first post, so sorry if it has some issues.  I've been planning my first tattoo and have really enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful ones in this community.  Anyway, I'm a very indecisive person and wanted some advice.  Here's the backstory: I've been studying abroad in New Zealand this semester and I'm nearing the end of my time here.

Ugh. I just posted this whole big comment, and the LJ ate it. Here goes:

I love the idea of the second picture, with just Bilbo, his stool, and his pipe, and maybe some smoke rings floating about. A good artist could clean it up and make it into a really awesome tattoo!

Also, I get so excited when people post about Tolkien tattoos in here. I have one -- Smaug on my chest (taken directly from the map at the beginning of The Hobbit -- and plan on at LEAST one more.

AND! Can I just say, "Yay librarian/schoolteacher-ness?" Because, well, yay librarian/schoolteacher-ness! I'm planning to get my MLIS after college so I can be a Childrens' Librarian!

Good luck with your tattoo and n your career, and definitely, definitely post photos in here when you get the ink done. :D

I totally understand where you're coming from. I just got back from a year in Texas and everything has changed for me, so I'm getting a three paneled tattoo, the first being the outline of Texas, the second being a black longhorn and the third being the words 'We go beyond romance...' So I get your motivation *smiles*
