Ampersands & Sonnets

Hello! I've been stalking on here for quite some time, but now I need some advice.

I recently got married, and I liked the idea of getting an ampersand on my inner left wrist to symbolize the union. Thing is, I feel like wrist tattoos are getting overdone, and I don't want to look back in twenty years and feel like I was part of a fad. (No offense ( Read more... )

I like the line "between the shadow and the soul." And you're right, there are only so many places where you can get tattood. I guess an original spot would be the inner thigh ;-) What matters is what is important to you, not what others think. If that is the placement you like, go for it.

I would get "XVII" tattooed on me as a reminder of the ENTIRE poem :)

Non-cliche places to get tattooed:

Skull
Labia
Between the buttcheeks
On the nipple
Forehead

Yeah... none of those are too appealing to me. I LOVE wrist tattoos and plan to get two of them once I know it will be okay for me job-wise. It's a popular place because it's an attractive place.

I also second/third/fourth just getting the "XVII."

seriously. wrists are a great place and who cares if other people have it? its not like the new tramp stamp or anything and it can be said about a lot of things. people should stop worrying about what others will think and get what they want.

I love the idea of getting "XVII" it's original and would have a very personal meaning for you.

As for wrist tattoos, if you think they would look good on you, go for it. Lots of tattoos/placements get bad reputations but it should be right for you personally.

Example: Lower back on girls is often named 'tramp stamp' but it can be beautiful (see a few posts down with the Slaughterhouse Five tattoo) it does not matter if they're cliche or fashionable, do what you want on your body.

Agreeing with the "XVII" idea. Perfect, simple and personal. :)

I have wrist tatt, a tramp stamp and my shoulder-blades. NOOOOOOO (I think they look good, though - placement is really dependent on your body and what you show/feel connected with. I'd never be able to get a chest piece or a hip piece, and I wish I could. :\)
