I had a hell of a time taking a photograph of my wrist tattoo! So far, this is the only literary tattoo I have. The text reads "I am human; nothing human is strange to me." I first saw the quote in Elliot Perlman's Seven Types of Ambiguities, where it was written in Latin. The quote is originally attributed to Terence, an old Roman playwright, and appeared in his play Heauton Timorumenos (which I haven't read). The Latin is "Homo sum, humani nil a me alienum puto." I chose not to get it in Latin because I don't/can't read or speak it and so thought it would be a little disingenuous of me to rep a tattoo in a language I am not at all familiar with.
The font is GF Halda and is 18 pt, I think. I had it done by Shannon at Braindrops on Hayes in San Francisco 6 months ago.
Hope everyone is having a good day!
