I have been wanting to get some bluebirds on the left side of my back (like, from the left section of my lower back up my back a ways) for Bukowski's 'Bluebird'. Ideally, I would also like an e.e.cummings quote on my right ribcage ( Read more... )

e.e. cummings, bukowski

The first is a really good question. One of Bukowski's more regular metephors was bluebirds. So, i think they're a great pairing that absolutely cofirms each other.

Personally I love the idea.

I like the idea, but I might be biased because I have a bluebird tattoo for the Buk. :]
I think I may have posted it about a month ago.

But also, the ideas of "little birds who are the secrets of living" and "there's a bluebird in my heart that wants to get out" are almost parallel.
We all have secrets, you know? We all have that hidden part of us, and personifying that hidden part as a bird is fitting for many of us. I know it suits me.

you chose a fine line, and I agree that they go together beautifully.

I'd thought of getting that line as well, one of the two cummings lines I've frequently thought about.
