James rented an unassuming Ford Taurus from Hertz, leaving his McLaren SLR in his driveway. He had slipped into black jeans, his black leather jacket, and had put on a black beanie for good measure, even though it wasn't cold enough for one ( Read more... )

Samira paced a long strip into Maddie's kitchen floor. After talking with James, she tried her best to distract herself but that deemed unsuccessful and the worn marks across the linoleum in the bright cottage kitchen was proof of that. When her cell phone vibrated in her right hand, she stopped and closed her eyes to fear the worst. Samira lifted her phone up, forced it open with her thumb and index finger and ran a shaky hand through her hair as the tiny screen flipped to the message.

Color drained from her face. 'No fucking passport. No fucking passport...' she shook violently. After five minutes, she began her text back to James

Nothing left to do. Have to pack and get myself to the airport. Did you have any problems?

James had already pulled into his driveway and pressed the code to close the gate behind him. He was halfway to the door of his house when his iPhone alerted him of a message. He pulled it out and looked at the screen, his eyes going dark with worry. Slipping himself inside, he shut and locked the door behind him, then walked into the living room. He bit on his lip as he plopped onto the couch and sighed. He sent a text back to her:

No problems here. Left things the way they were. Need help with flights or transportation?

She'd managed to get her things into her bag quickly. When her phone chimed, she jumped but without hesitating, she opened it to the message and immediately typed out her reply

Will have to talk to Connor. Its only fair. He'll help. Will call you once I get to wherever. Thanks so much for helping. <3

Just as she flipped her phone shut, she heard a car coming up the dirt road and quickly shut the light off before bolting to the window. Her blood rain cold as she saw the dark figure of Tim slide out of a rental car..

James pressed the button to view the message and read it, his brows furrowing with concern. He shook his head, though she obviously wasn't there and couldn't see him. With a heavy sigh, he replied.

Try again. Let me help you. Please.
