I put in my two weeks notice today and promptly lost my job. I had been working there for two years and had hoped to leave on good terms....the had a maneger change a month a go and this new manager tore me down. "There is always something wrong with you. I have worked with you three times and something has always gone wrong....I think that we will ( Read more... )

Allie, I'm very sorry about your job. Although it's difficult, you'll be able to find one soon. You have good experience, and you're over eighteen (with a HS diploma).

Doesn't it suck to be most upset over the things that don't really matter because so many other things are good? But everything will be fine, and soon enough, Chili's won't matter.

I hope your body feels better soon. I would give you advice on it, but I have no earthly idea what to do, aside from the obvious stay healthy.

Hey, my old manager at Food Lion was like that. I worked on the 4th of July when every other bagger called in sick/quit... I got yelled at for everything under the sun. That guy was a total fucking asshole! But the assistant manager was GREAT, though, so that's how I survived.

Hey, tell ya' what, if I ever get myself down there, we can play this "hot lava" whatever the hell that is. ^-^

Eek! >_< about the uh... blood thing. Eeeww! *dies*

You'll survive and in the future you'll probably end up killing your old manager's kids, thus wiping out his entire bloodline. :P If you ever need anyone to talk to, feel free! Uh, grab my number from Stacy, I think she's still got it. Laterlater. *hugs since it seems like you need a few good hugs*

People can be real assholes. Especially managers. Unfortunately, things will never get better--I've heard horror stories from my dad and have had bead experiences myself. You just have to remember that you did a good job, for two years, and one person being an asshole doesn't negate that. There is no reason for them not to graciously accept your resignation, it was way out of line to say what he did, and had I been you I think I might have told the guy off. And I have never done that.

As for your body problems--what pill are you on? You should not have a horrible reaction to it. Although it takes time for your body to adjust, serious side effects are never a good sign, and you may need to switch to a different pill. Try posting in the livejournal birthcontrol community; they are a set of usually very helpful people. Have you spoken with your doctor about it?

I'm sorry to hear about the job issue, too. Though, from the looks of it, it sounds like this person was a real asshole. My best advice is to take a little bit of time off and relax a little before school starts again.

Everyone's got thier managerial horror stories; sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. It's just a fact of working life and something we all have to get use to.

As far as feminine stuff keeps up, it'll get better or they'll prescribe something else. Your body should regulate itself in time. It may not move as quickly because you're not used to strong medicines, but it will in time.
