I've not seen the ep. yet but I feel as if I've got to the kernel of the matter. I wonder whether Nolan's words to House about suffering as much as the suffering you've caused rather than acknowledging you've screwed up and then moving on, also played into his decision to help Chase?
Great job, anyway!

I think that advice may very well have played some part, actually. I'm glad you enjoyed the fic.

I *Love* this. That is Exactly how House thinks. And I hadn't previously thought about it being a way for House to mend the relationship between he and Chase- but I do think that was part of it. Their father/son-ish relationship is brilliant and I hope that with things going as they have been that the show continues to explore their relationship.

Thanks So much for this story!!

Thank you so much for the comment! I thought there had to be a sense of quid pro quo in House's evaluation of the relationship, since so often his evaluations of his interaction with others work like equations: there has to be a balance. And yes, the father/son sort of relationship between House and Chase is something I enjoy watching and will continue to explore in fic.

Love this. It covers the emotional side of the issue (on House's side, and a little on Chase's) that I think they pushed past a bit quickly in the episode. I'm glad you filled it in!

Nice story. And boy is House right about the Catholic guilt.

Well, it was inevitable that House would consider the weight of religious training and its effects on Chase's thought process. I'm glad you enjoyed the fic.
