I'm so glad that it does flow well. I think I lost a lot of readers when I had big breaks in the posting... people couldn't keep up with the plot threads, and I totally understand that because I'm the same way. I can't keep track of stories over a long period of time.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the characters who were new to you. I really had fun pitting the ultimate Browncoat rebel against the ultimate champion of Law and Order. Jim and Mal gave me a chance for some fun mutual torture.

I wasn't around this week, so I missed the spurt! I just realized today I hadn't commented yet on the last chapter, and came by to do that, just to discover you finished the story while I wasn't looking ( ... )

Thank you so much. Pom poms are always good for the ego. I certainly can see this leading to a number of adventures, but my current goal is still to finish my unfinished WIPs before exploring these two war horses stuck in their ruts and rutting.

Lieutenant Womak really was a bit of a creep (and he insulted Jayne's hat), but he didn't get enough screen time, so I really felt free to build any character I wanted around that.

So I started again from the beginning and read it straight through (ok, there was work and sleeping, so not STRAIGHT through. And also, not so much with the straight in the story...). It was so much fun to see the Firefly crew from a different perspective--and Jim and Blair as well. I wasn't sure that Mal and Jayne were going to come off as believable given the setup, but in the end I think it worked.

I'm sorry I'm finished because now I can't read it again for the first time. Now that many of the WIPs are finished, any thoughts about some smaller stories in this verse--that that it's all nicely set up with J/B flying around with the rest of the crew?

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I do think that the time for this particular plot bunny passed about a year and a half ago... the casualty of me having too many WIPs going at once. But who knows, maybe something will come back in time.

i'm so glad i finally read this, i really loved it, not that that's an unusual thing with your fics, but yeah. loved how you worked jim and blair into the firefly universe and and i'd love to comment on the firefly guys but i'm really nto that familiar with them other than the one movie but i do love how the characters were portrayed. and the interactions between all the different characters, them trying to translate river-speak and mal and jayne finding their place with each other and jim and blair finding their place with the crew, all wonderfully done. great fic!
