I enjoyed this very much! And if you want to write a sequel, I would love to see more of Ezra!

Thank you so much. I may write more, or someone else may choose to pick up the story. We'll have to see what the future brings.

This was fun - pissed off Jim, unpleasant Ezra, supporto-Blair, and a cast of odd characters. It's certainly an unusual take on Grace Ellison - generally, she's cast as an abused woman or unfaithful wife, but I don't think I've ever seen her portrayed as a petty (not so petty?) criminal. It really creates a conundrum for law-respecting Jim. Frankly, I didn't like either Grace or Ezra (and neither does Jim), but clearly he feels the lure of family. I'd love to see a follow up!

They are an odd cast of characters, but I can't see an abused woman taking off without her kids, and an unfaithful wife doesn't necessarily leave her children. I could see Maude/Grace realizing that she'd been outmaneuvered and choosing to protect the one son she could. And I could see a middle-aged William creating false evidence to blackmail her. And no, I don't think Jim likes these people, but I think he's starting to understand his parents, and he might learn to like Ezra.

Ezra is an interesting character in the show. He talks like all he cares about is himself, but when the chips are down, he acts like he loves these men he's thrown in with. I can see Jim and Blair both being drawn to that kind of loyalty once they stop paying so much attention to Ezra's mouth!

It's good that Jim and Ezra managed to finally have a civil conversation. Even some openings for future visits. Not so sure Jim should be letting his mother so close. Not after Ezra warned him about the way she is. When she hugged him the first thing I wondered was if she picked his pocket.

I do think they could tolerate each other long enough for some respect and maybe even some liking to grow between them. Besides, with these two parents, Jim and Ezra might bond out of self-defense.
