Can't even believe that I got first. It was totally random. When I started to comment I saw no one else had, and on a whim, I refreshed to see if there had been any since I started reading. What a surprise when no one had! Particularly, when I'm not on your friends' list (no offense, but I don't friend people--or ask to be friended-- unless it is the only way to access their account) because I just don't check my friends update, which can easily become overwhelming. I swear, I check my favorites, which you are one of 4 or 5, at least once a day. Not stalker quality, on my part, yet, but you are worthy of such attention.
P.S. Let's play a game: how many "I" can you find in the above paragraph.
So good!!!! Can't wait to see how things go horribly wrong. Vin definitely should have known better than to invite Jim and Blair to anything involving potential gunfire. Things always go wrong around those two...
Wow! I just had to cringe with Jim about his family, that was harsh for him. now if those two could just get a moment alone for some hot action, Jim would mellow out sooo fast.
Possible edits: but one think Jim knew for sure, he hadn't been able to smell any pheromones over the rotten flesh smell of the exotic fruit. one THING Jim
Blair is such a little shit in this. *shakes head* I know he says that he's getting tired from all the family drama, but it's like, as soon as there's another angle, he goes about poking it with a stick. Jim's a better person than I am, I've gotta say. I'd have washed my hands of it and let Blair enjoy his time down there, investigating on his own for a while since he seems so keen on going about it whether Jim is comfortable or not.
And yes, I'm aware that sometimes it's a good idea to push when a loved one needs pushing, but I think at this point, Jim's been pushed a bit too much. And to disregard Jim's perspective on what a tribe is and what it isn't is rather a bit insulting, especially if he ever thought about how Jim is actually making his own tribe with people who don't share his blood (something very similar to what I'm doing with regards to rejecting parts of my

Thanks for the catch. I'll fix that before I post to my website. Blair is a little irrepressible in this, but he's also shown some hints of not liking Maude and he's told Jim he's on Jim's side no matter what. More than that, he's not telling Jim that Maude's definition of tribe is right, only that he can't assume his family would define tribe the way he would. Jim's need to protect Cascade is valid. It's clear Ezra's tribe is the seven. Maude's tribe is her family--that's what Jim wasn't seeing. But then, Jim isn't going to see eye to eye with his mother on much of anything.
You're doing a good job of fleshing Jim's mother out as a character, but I can't find it in me to like her. A whole family of sensory enhanced criminals? What a waste. It feels like you'll have to pull off something big to get Jim to connect at all with his brother.
I'm not sure he can connect with his brother. I'd settle for them not hating each other right now. However, Jim has to keep in mind that Ezra walked away from Maude and hooked up with the seven.
