Oh man, that was awesome! I was reading so fast cos the action was so fast! Xander hanging onto Spike's jacket for dear life; Riley coming in to save the day; Caleb was just scarily evil - just major rush all round!! Three chapters in one go - not sure my heart can take any more!

And Squee!! Xander kept his eye!!!

Wow! That was intense! That was practically sction spiked from start to finish.

And Xander as second in command and in charge rules. His potential was so wasted in canon.

Best of all, he still has his eye! Yeah!

And LOL at Giles! For all the good he's been doing, he might as well just stay at home.

Thank you so much. I'm just working with canon, and that is an exciting bit... at least on the transcripts. But I really can't see this Spike, who loves Xander, letting his attention wander too far. He would have seen the trouble coming faster.

I always thought the eye losing gave him character and sorrow, but in this story you already did that with his daughter and killing Warren. So it's possible Xan didn't need to be tortured anymore. Holding Spike's jacket on the way out was cute. I hope Riley/anyone tortures Caleb into a pile of mush.

Xander's daughter has forced him to grow up a lot faster than in canon. But the real deciding factor for me was the transcript. Xander lost his eye when Spike was distracted by Buffy, but Spike reacted the second he saw the danger. In this universe, Spike would keep an even closer eye on Xander, so I can't see him losing even a second. The second Caleb turned his attention to Xander, Spike would have noticed, and Caleb's little speech would have given Spike time to get there.

Wow! Some dead potentials, and some seriously wounded. But Xander's all in one piece, and Riley came to the rescue with guns blazing. All kinds of uber-ness.

And through it all, Xander wouldn't let go of the ones who're important to him: Spike and Buffy mainly. It's just who he is even when he can't remember it.

the fight wasn't as bad as in canon, but it didn't exactly go well. And yes, Xander is always going to be loyal to the end.
