LOL! Willow should know better than to just barge in to someone's bedroom.

"Right," Buffy said, her voice dripping with suspicion. "So, you're just volunteering to enlist?"

Vovka didn't have a chance to answer because Xander started choking on his heart which was suddenly in his throat.

"Bloody hell, breathe, Harris," Spike said, slapping him on the back. Xander gave Spike a wide, panicked look, but Spike just stared back blankly.

Damn Xander! You suck at keeping secrets.

And yay for some demon assistance! I always wondered why didn't see more good demons on the show more. It would have been fascinating.

I always wondered why didn't see more good demons on the show more. I think ME had to keep it very black & white so that we would never think that Buffy might be killing nice demons. It became far more complex later on AtS.

Ooh, so good you put that stop sign there. I totally missed the previous chapter. An interesting turn of events and divergence from canon. Can't wait for more!

You know, they should call in Ethan. Even a chaos mage wouldn't want the world sucked to hell...and it would be fun to see him in the mix, lol. :D

I think Dawn's got some of Xander's "I call bullshit" quality, there. Given the black and white world-view fostered by the Watchers, I wouldn't be suprised if there were other atrocities in the Slayers' past. I doubt most of them had time to learn much about the things they were fighting, even if they had the inclination.

I agree with you about Ethan. Would be cool to see how Giles would deal with him and how Ethan would bring out the good (or worse) sides of the *Ripper*.

I think it would be good to give dear old Rupert a reminder that he also was not always a white knight in his early days. And I imaging that Ethan and Ripper were more than just *good friends* in their youth. How would it be if Ethan would try to restart their relationship? Would Rupert give in into a love that he was trying to forget so hard?

Sorry, but I think I was dreaming a little bit to much... LOL

I don't think Giles was ever a white knight. He became a Watcher because it was expected; had his rebellion; came back into the fold like a good boy. Yes, he wanted to help fight evil, and yes, he's been a good Watcher for Buffy. But, imo, he doesn't have the pure sincerity of intent that a "white knight" would have.

They never that Ethan and Giles were ever together right out, but given the vibes between them, that's what fandom picked up, lol. I think it would be interesting, if only to see someone getting under Giles's skin, and to see if Giles could inspire Ethan to be good...for a while.

Especially in the church-dominated past where anyone not a true believer was branded a witch or possessed or something. Of course a lot of the blame goes to the bloody Watchers who used these young girls as interchangeable cannon fodder. One dies; another is chosen. (read this really creepy fanfic set in the 19th century where a Slayer was needed in Asia toot sweet so they had the one in Europe killed so a potential in Asia could become the Slayer - I wouldn't put anything past those guys).

Things were more black and white in BtVS with very few nice demons - I guess ME didn't want to get into the morality of demon slaying and the possibility that Buffy might be killing nice demons. Later on AtS things became far more complex vis a vis demons.
