Ah, fuck.

I've been holding my breath for this one-- and it was so worth waiting for.

Thank you so much. I normally don't write anything quite so close to non-con, but Angel certainly gave Lindsey the option to say no and had the good sense to take Lindsey in hand when he didn't.

Skating close to the non-con-- kinda kinky...

Hardly none typos!

he mage still looked to Angel who gave a small not.

And this; A familiar sense of calm settled into his skin

I wonder if it should be "unfamiliar?" Lindsey and calm... not much familiarity there....

I think skating the edge is sexy... it lets someone who can't say yes just avoid saying no. And I think what I'm getting at is that Lindsey has felt that calm feeling of submission before--like a horse that's been blindfolded. He's starting to realize that he was enslaved once before.

"I am not ruled by my vampire," Angel said, his words clipped.

Wesley and Lindsey both rolled their eyes at that proclamation. "We do the spell now," Wesley said firmly. What do we need to do?"

LOL! I love this part!

And yeah, Angel does deny himself WAY too much. Things would have been easier if he was just honest about what he truly wanted/desired.

"I am doing this because I am committing myself to a cause that I believe in. That is my nature, and I am quite done coddling your squeamishness." For a second, Wesley looked shocked at the words that had come from his own mouth. But then he squared his shoulders and kept right on going. "You need to own people in order to feel secure, and you will."

That is SO Wesley! Always ready to give himself to a cause he believes in no what the consequences.

And I see that Lindsey finally caught a clue at the end.

Angel may have to be careful. If Wesley and Lindsey gang up on him, he's going to be in a whole lot of trouble. And I'm thrilled that you can see Wesley in that speech. Every time I watch Wesley feed Angel his own blood after pulling him out of the ocean I am brougth back to the conclusion that he is a very strong, exceptionally submissive man.

Lindsey just refuses to admit that WF&H are slavers. He's so blind, he won't see. I hope things get better for him soon. Wesley is so much smarter than Lindsey. Excellent work.

That's a hard thing to admit... give him some time.

Wow. Thank you so much. I'm thrilled that I could reach you on such a deep level. I really do think that each of these characters comes to their relationships with a history that changes who they are. It's when people try to ignore their past that they get all tangled up in it. That's certainly where LIndsey is right now... all tangled up.
