On the one hand, I'm awe-struck by the fun that this fic inspired, because it was such a joy to read and think about. On the other hand, awwww, it's over! I'm glad you've got other plot bunnies bouncing around for follow-ups, but I'm just as glad as other stories are whispering to you as well.

You are a truly talented writer, able to share fantasies that are as epic in their detail and scope as they are rich with style, and I for one can't wait to see what's next.

Jack and Hammond are replaced in canon and Jim was never there, so Jack's right--the soldiers can be replaced. The goa'uld were largely defeated by the people and object that Daniel found and Sam figured out, and I think Jack is well aware of that. His role is to make sure those two don't end up dead.
