Your Dalton has come a long long way from the somewhat timid vampire whom Spike ordered to spar with Xander to improve Xander's fighting skills.

She's a little scary now.

I wonder how Spike will react if she goes against his orders and has the former Oden Tal witch perform the spell and the sacrifice anyway.

Interesting place your muse took you. Hopefully it won't be as long before the next chapter of Toys is up. And more your SG-1/Sentinel crossover. And the final chapter of Dom/Xander. I've mentioned previously I like everything you write, right?

She has come a long way, but it's the nature of a vampire to become scarier as they move up the ladder of status, and she's pretty high at this point.

As high as she is, I think Spike would still dust her given the right provocation. I just don't think that she would do anything to push her sire THAT far.

I'm seeing Dalton playing games behind Spike's back. Maybe he's let her get a little too powerful, too quickly? *ponders* It was interesting Riley trying to explain human reasoning to her.

Dalton is struggling to understand the court and the rules that Spike plays by because Spike doesn't always think like a vampire. She's trying to follow in her sire's footsteps.

He really isn't getting everything he truly needs, but this is better than being sent off to women he doesn't care about at all.

As complicated as this universe is, I'm glad you're still finding it enjoyable.

Hmm Dalton - what is she up to?
Poor Riley - being an addicted ex-soldier isn't easy. His POV of the goings-on in the Court is fascinating - you're really coming up with intricate stuff and probably far more than you ever thought you might need when you began this fic.
However one day a Dawn POV chapter might be interesting though it would probably heve to be PG *sigh*

Dalton is trying to figure out the psychological rules that Spike uses. I think she's starting to understand that if she wants the same relationship Angel and Spike have here, she has to be more than a vampire.

And I may do a Dawnie story at one point. I've dropped a couple of hints that might lead to Dawn's school.
