He does need a hug, probably two! Jim is a soldier, and that means he will either follow orders or give them, depending on where he is in the structure. That's a rule that he's comfortable with. Blair is not adapting as well.
And I'm glad you're enjoying the temporarily manic muse!

Wow, something fundamental happened there. I wasn't expecting the alien to reveal herself. I'm guessing she had to have been the reason the orders changed. I so want to see what comes next. Especially with *Nikita* on the scene. Oh yeah, that's gonna be a bundle of laughs!
And, on a personal note, it's lovely to see Daniel giving Jack support in the same way Blair does for Jim! Ah, boys! *loves*
Wee fixes: Jim sidestepped, physically shoving Jim with his shoulder, [shoving Jack]? Have Tobias give me a aerial of the area [an aerial] as well as Teal'c current location [Teal'c's] I thought was best of the security [was best for] Jim immediately said as pulled Blair [said as he] a cry for pain [a cry of pain]

The alien is working according to her religious/ethical beliefs. If Blair is killed, then his death is her fault because she brought the goa'uld here. She knows these people may execute her, but dying is preferable to causing death. And of course Daniel is going to support Jack, even if Jack is being an ass.
Jim is an officer. He couldn't have gotten to be a captain without knowing how to command men. And Blair really is fascinated with an entire species of enlightened beings. In other circumstances (like if he didn't have his sentinel), I can see him volunteering to go with them.
Wow, you are being spurty, and you can't even blame me any more *g*
Goodness, something fundamental has definitely shifted. You made Makepeace almost 'vulnerable' when he was talking to Jack, something I never thought I'd see.
Blair seeing aliens - I bet our favourite anthropologist is just desperate to write a paper, even though it would never be published. That's of course if he doesn't get mind wiped first!
Can't wait to see what happens when Nikita gets there.
Oh, I can totally blame you. I had to really work to get chimera in there, and in working so hard, I obviously put the muse into some sort of manic overdrive. I really did try to redeem Makepeace here. In canon, he's the one who saves Jack and the others from Hathor, and he's always the first to wade into the thick of battle, so I hated how he was just dismissed as a traitor without Jack even asking why a man with so much loyalty could choose the NID over SGC.
Great chapter with so much action and many switches! I'm not all that familiar with SG-1, except for the odd crossover with TS and J/D, but I'm following right along pretty well. And loving the ride. =>}
I"m glad you're enjoying the ride, and while I don't think you're getting the most objective image of SG-1, I'm trying to keep this fairly canon. Jack can be an asshole to people he considers "intruding" on his territory.
I've seen enough of SG-1 to know what Jack is like, but this is really not leaving me with my best impression of him. At times, he seems worse than Nikita. I know he isn't, but he really IS being a hemorrhoid of an asshole that Blair calls him. =>}
