I went for Herbert, because it is a sweet and dorky sort of name. Sisyphus works for the first icon and I did consider that, back then, but no, this is a friendly dorky snail, so Herbert it is. Sort of a 'carpet slippers in front of the fire' snail.

I found the idea of the snail having a serious, old greek or roman or whatever, name irresistible, so I voted Sisyphus.
But he'll be fine with Hubert too. Purvis is very cool too. Hmm.
