I'm terribly afraid of the unknown. I find villains much more scary when they have no identity or if their motives are unclear.
I had a weird hallucination when I had a fever a few years ago, and it was that something was going to come up the stairs and get me (that something was a cartoon character, nbd). But the scariest concept? I have this inexplicable fear of being alone (seems to be a trend, here) in a dark room and someone walks in, I've no idea who, and they take a knife to me, a sharp, glinting knife, only I can't see it and I don't know where it's going to strike me next. It starts in my eyes and then goes to my chest and my abdomen and down the sides of my legs, up my back and across my scapulas. I don't even really know WHY that thought terrifies me so much, but it's caused me to grab a knife and sleep with it between my mattresses or under my pillow on occasion.
