"I keep track of all the moments in my life that feel like a movie - it'd probably be those ones."

1.) Do you think your whole life flashes before your eyes right before you die?

2.) If it were to flash, do you ever think about what moments would stand out? What are they?

3.) I was presented with a new way to view kissing - when you kiss someone, do you ever think about the happiest you've ever felt with that person? I guess it makes the ( Read more... )

1. I think it might in some cases. In sudden deaths, like a car accident or a shooting, I think the shock and fear bubble up in energy that just kind of explodes and you see all sorts of things that have happened, like your memories escaping or something ( ... )

1.) No, although it's an idea that people like to have in mind I think it would be terribly sad and fucking horrifying to be leaving this world and be forced to think of all the happy times you've had in it. It's just. cruel. However, I think people may remember stuff that has happened to them to make them feel better about dying, but I often think that would be in cases of slow death, over a period of time. Sudden death, I think panic and fear would cloud your mind and prevent the flashes. I don't know, I'm not very optimistic when I think about my death.

2.) I've never thought about this before. I think seeing the New York skyline from the car on our first day there is probably the happiest I've ever felt in my life. I think that would be a flash-before-your-eyes moment for me.

3.) I've never really kissed someone that I care about that much to want to remember the new feeling or like the familiarity. I think that when I do get to kiss someone more than once or twice, I would like the familiarity. Of course, it would be beautiful ( ... )

4. Apathy. People who are apathetic and/or base their opinions solely off of what other people say or do drive me absolutely nuts.

5. This may not answer your question exactly, but the number one philosophy that my parents have tried to instill in my as I've grown up is the notion that if you can believe in something, you can achieve it. I've always found that - in school and otherwise - what I put into something generally indicates what I'm going to get back from it. There's this Barbra Streiand quote that I adore: "You feel it, you see it, you can understand it, you say it, you do it, you make it happen. You know, it's funny, I really believe that imagination and belief manifest reality. Perception creates reality." I believe in that so much. Yet obviously just having a feeling deep inside you won't make something happen, as you've got to put in the work in order to see whatever it is you're trying to accomplish come to fruition. You pair your efforts with your vision to create the end result ( ... )

1) Hmm, I think the most memorable or most meaningful moments in your life do. But not every death. I think if you are in that moment before you die and you know you're about to die. I especially love the description of what matters to Lester at the end of American Beauty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGiI-MuTWf0 Always makes me feel so peaceful and so bawl-my-eyes-out worthy. LOL ( ... )
