That dream is freaky. I alway manage to wake myself up out of nightmares, but one time I just couldn't and whenever I thought I had done it something happened that made me realize that I was still dreaming that shitty dream. I tried three times before I finally woke up for real.

Same here. I have no idea how I do it and people always look at me weirdly when I talk about it. The thing is that my brain seems to rationally acknowledge that there are things that can't be real. It's like watching a movie. At the same time things happen in my dream there's this voice of reason that goes "This is weird, it can't be real"
