a note to the house fandom

WOW, okay, I need to say something.

→ Cameron being in a House episode does not mean "Hameron" is back. Do people remember when she used to be in every episode? And some people didn't like her, yeah, but at least it was accepted. Because she's a character and wow, look at that, characters make up TV shows and are frequently shown on camera. I ( Read more... )

Damn for not being able to edit my entry. So, i am a member at a Greek forum and they are running a poll named "Who is the most beautiful female presence in House" and i can't believe it that Cuddy/Lisa is ahead followed by 13. I mean, it's amazing that most of them prefer Lisa comparing to the others two. They say that both 13 and Cam may are pretty and all that stuff but Cuddy has all the package, the attitude, the style, the sexiness and in general being awesome. Of course there are some stupid ones who say some bullshit(she being old and cannot be compared to the others, some people really have issues) but i don't give a damn :D I am so sorry for rambling but i just wanted to share cause little things like that really make my day ^.^

I know, it's more than annoying. If I want to enjoy my show exactly as it is I have to avoid certain places now, and places I used to LOVE and visit regularly. It's annoying that awesome places like house_cuddy are so full of shit and wank and whining now.
*hugs flist*

WORD.

Was it House Vs God, when Cuddy literally had 12 words in the entire episode? Those were the early days of House. I would always watch the eps twice, because the first time I was too busy waiting for Cuddy and couldn't concentrate on what was going on properly.

Oh! I think I bailed on house_cuddy when a whole bunch of Hugh/Lisa shippers cropped up, and were totally disrespectful of Hugh's wife and Lisa's partner at the time. That kinda stuff makes me embarrassed for our section of the fandom.

Thank you for writing that! I find the Hugh/Lisa stuff much more disturbing than anything having to do with the show itself. At least the rest of the idiocy has to do with fictional people.

I totally agree with you.I'm as happy as I could be even with just one tiny Cuddy scene, just because I love her,and that's all.Besides, the show is House M.D.,not Cuddy M.D.,and people have to deal with this.

The fandom has changed too drastically. And I agree with everything you say. Especially concerning the new waves of fans, for any given ship/show, really.

It's...it's hard to put into words but there's an immaturity in the way they ship.

I don't frequent house_cuddy at all. Really. The people on my flist are the people I want to discuss this show with, and read their comments. I don't need a comm, where I have to sift through mounds of squee-without-the-content posts. People don't discuss anymore. It's just about WHAT THEY WANT and if they don't get it, they throw a tantrum. But hai, real life doesn't give you what you want. These writers aren't reading your LJ and basing their tales on it. Take a breath, see the show for what it is and hey, maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised! People need to open their eyes and mind.

I love my ship, I do. And I tend to have a love/hate relationship with the show, as is with every show. There are things that I love, things that I hate. But I respect this show a great deal. Because it does what it sets out ( ... )

But most of all, I love us "old-school" fans. Those on my flist - those who can offer the squee without foregoing on the intelligent discussions and observations. ♥

Yes, please! I want that. I'm not an old-school fan- more of a dreaded newbie feeling her way around the House LJ fandom/communities- but I'd like to find somewhere to have intelligent discussions sprinkled with some SQUEE!.

Based on your comments, looks like an actual community like that doesn't exist but rather it's just individuals scattered about. Someone needs to do a House/Cuddy friending meme, so I can find you guys. :)

That's exactly it. There's absolutely no room for actually communing anymore. It's all, "Well, I'm entitled to an opinion, so." Nevermind that you were just trying to point out that IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD, and offer some optimism and perspective.

The entire fandom has been overrun by bunch of spoiled 3-year-olds with NO attention span, who want what they want now, and if they don't get it, prepare for the temper-tantrum.

I think those who have been around longer saw how things were when H/Cuddy was the little guy, and how our ship was treated by the "main" ship. Now people are pulling the same crap with no regard to that history -- how it feels to be on the receiving end, and how easily things can turn.

It's really embarrassing. I love House/Cuddy to death. But there's a reason for my love that delves beneath the House and Cuddy are hot have secks nao pls kthnx.

Our ship has been dumbed down because it's superficial, now that it's in the front running. And...while I do enjoy the writers recognizing the potential, I...as elitist as it might sound, don't like the influx. Because people aren't seeing what we saw, what we went through, how much we supported it.

We didn't "look for moments" but we saw them. And we backed them up with logic and discussions and observations and anecdotes. WE CONNECTED over it ( ... )
