THE DEBATE. I have no words. I felt as though McCain was extremely disrespectful. Condescending. Rude. Not professional. He wouldn't even acknowledge who he was speaking to and he just sat there like a smug little fucker and my hatred for him grew exponentially. And did anyone see at the end of it, when McCain went to walk off but Obama crossed the ( Read more... )

I just like, covered half of this on MSN. LOL. You obviously know my feelings on the debate

It kills me that there are people who DON'T EVEN LIVE HERE and give more of a shit about our politics than people who actually have the ability to vote in this election.
:( it is a personal goal to be able to vote in the next one, hopefully to keep Obama in office ♥

I'm so sorry the game wasn't what you hoped :(

That bodes well if you like 30 Rock already. It improves exponentially :D

Tina Fey is a genius. I have no words. I mean...HEAD WRITER on SNL! She really dominated a man's world (not wanting to be sexist but she WAS the first female head writer on the show). I admire her so damn much - just her risks and talents and everything.

NO NO THAT'S TOTALLY WHY I LOVE HER. I hugely love women who can establish themselves in comedy.

I KNOW! And we have SO many role models paving the way for bright young comedians (of both sexes)!

Oh, McCain pissed me off so much. One, I looked in the dictionary and the thesaurus: tactic and strategy are synonyms. Two, if I hear "Sen. Obama clearly doesn't understand..." I will strangle something. You know who also says shit like that? Know-it-all old people who are completely out of touch with society, which he is. Three, "I've known Kissinger for 35 years?" Well, we have a picture of my uncle having dinner with Kissinger in our family scrapbook, so... THERE.

OH MY GOD THAT STRATEGY/TACTIC THING PISSED THE HELL OUT OF ME. I COULD NOT EVEN BELIEVE HE TRIED TO USE THAT AS AN ARGUMENT. oh and he is DEFINITELY out of touch with reality. And stuck in the past. OMG YOU DO? GUESS WHAT, YOUR UNCLE CAN BE PRESIDENT.

Two things.

1. Totally agree with you on the debate. John McCain pissed me off the way he didn't even try to be respectful. I thought Obama did really well and in my mind, he won but, given the way McCain spent the whole week lowering expectations, he pretty much wins just for showing up.

2. I just started 30 Rock yesterday and have fallen in love with Tina Fey. I can't believe it took me this long to finally get around to watching it! Blind Date is my favorite episode so far.

P.S. Have you watched The West Wing? I recommend it. Of course, it will make you feel like the real world is such a let down. You know that thing House said to Cuddy? "You see the world as it is and you see the world as it could be. What you don't see is what everybody else sees: the giant, gaping chasm in-between." Well, the West Wing is how things could be and we're stuck in how things are.

I know! Obama was so mature and awesome in the way he conducted and held himself and McCain was like a fucking 5 year old whiner. I am just not impressed by him at ALL. And I'm sick of his loser anecdotes.

Tina Fey is AMAZING.

I've seen about 5 episodes of the West Wing and it didn't really pull me in but maybe now that I care about politics it would be different lol

McCain is such an attention seeker. Every time things start looking good for Obama, McCain pulls some stunt. "Guess who my VP is? Governor Palin, whom you've never heard of and who is totally unprepared for this job!" "HEY! LOOK OVER HER! I'm suspending my campaign!"

She really is. I love, love, love her Tina Fey impression.

I'm pretty sure now that you're interested in politics you'll love it. And, the Democratic nominee for president in seasons 6-7? BASED ON BARACK OBAMA. Awesome, y/y?
