I am having so much fun now that I'm not "working". I'm sick as shit but it doesn't matter, yesterday and today have been fanFUCKINGtastic and it feels so much like home here I can barely even get over it. I felt like I was getting into a rut in Minnesota - even when I was happy I still felt like I was waiting for my life to start. I don't feel ( Read more... )

Oh which lens? A 50 mm? My 50 mm 1.8 is my favorite lens. It's amazing.

I'm glad you're having a good time in LA. I love this city so damn much.

It is!! kljsdhfhjkas and the one he bought is a 100mm 2.8 Tokina macro, which I also love so if you get a chance to play with it, do.

I fucking love it too. I don't even feel like I'm visiting, it feels so normal it almost startles me.

Sometimes I feel like LA is a hard city for outsiders to be impressed by, because we don't have the tallest building in the world or the most luxurious hotel in the world or the world's most beautiful beaches. But it's brilliant to live in and go about in our daily lives. I will always appreciate Los Angeles for being the city I fall in love with again and again when I see things and experience things that other people dream about.

Bwah, I wax poetic about a city.

I recently broke a lens, so I'm trying to decide whether I want to just get the same lens or spring for something really amazing, like a 12-24 zoom. The 12-24 zoom is my fantasy lens. I'll get it when I make back enough to cover all of my camera costs. I might sell my 50-200 mm, since I never use it.

I understand why some people wouldn't be impressed for lack of those things, but what I am and continue to be impressed by are the amount of artistic and creative people out here. Everyone's got such a pro-art attitude. At least everyone I've met so far. And I'm impressed by that more than I am the biggest skyscraper.

Oh no! I hope you get your fantasy lens! I have a 70-300mm that I really love but am starting to use less so I'm not sure. It is a great portrait lens because it's got an awesome depth of field but so does my new macro, like I didn't use my zoom at all on this shoot.

This entry makes me so happy :) Love that you are living this creative vibrant life, love that you had the guts to break away from home and that it was SO worth it. Love that you make spontaneous dress purchases and own songs that maybe no one else will ever hear. I'm just so happy for you bb, LA really seems to suit you ♥

Just looking at this skyline shot makes my heart ache to be on this roof and feel the atmosphere.

I'm just happy that you are happy, dear! ♥ Not sure if I missed something about that, but I hope the living arrangement problems have worked out somehow?
