I saw Hugo the other day - SUPER AMAZING GO SEE IT PLEASE. I wanted to see it in the first place but I loved it even more when it turned out to be so involved with film and the history of film-making. Amazing. So colorful and wonderful and well done, with such a precious spirit, it made me so happy. We didn't see it in 3D but something tells me it ( Read more... )

Oh, I am *dying* to see this. I saw the trailer in 3D, and I wanted to get in line for the ticket RIGHT THEN.

Not only does the story look great, but, my god, it's Scorcese. The man does cinematography like no one else. It's why The Age of Innocence is my favorite film of all time. I can only believe that this will be a film that knows how to use 3D properly.

And OMG, the Riches. I *adored* this show, and when I couldn't get my hands on the second season due to the strike, I kind of gave up. I knew it had been cut off at the knees, and I couldn't bear it. It's still in my netflix queue...suppose I should get around to finishing that. Pushing Daisies, too...that's another one that breaks my heart. The strike fucked up SO MANY amazing shows.

I have never seen Age of Innocence but I probably should. OH MY GOD IT WAS BREATHTAKING! SEE IT! And I love the overall message at the end - that everyone has a purpose, there are no extra pieces. That someone who's broken only needs their passion restored. Art, love, color!

I DOWNLOADED PUSHING DAISIES TOO!!! I figured it if was canceled, it's probably an amazing show, given the record. I got Arrested Development as well. WHAT ELSE HAS BEEN CANCELED.

My sister saw Hugo in 3D and loved it. She said there was always like, coal dust floating in the air, or a chair in the foreground coming out at you. Mmm, I agree, I'll have to see MWWM in order to decide because I didn't like the idea of the casting at first.
I still have to see American Horror Story. :(
I feel the exact same about Glee. And it's really upsetting me because I used to love it so much and lately it's just pissing me off so much. I mean, just the fact that the first Glee club gave a total solo performance, the Trouble Tones gave a default mash-up idea performance, and New directions were just randomly allowed to do 3 frickin songs (which they still hadn't decided on like 2 days before and still managed to learn all their solos and choreography)? By the end, i was just like, "Ok, are you guys fucking done?" Overall, I think TT should have won but come on, they're trying to tell me that in real life, they wouldn't have performed "Rumour Has It / Someone Like You" Fuck off.

I could tell even from the flat version that they thought ahead and would always have stuff coming at you. So wonderful. I like Michelle Williams in general but for Marilyn I'm not really sure. I hate to say it but I feel like Scarlett Johansson would have done a better job? IDK.

I AGREE ABOUT GLEE. HOW MANY FUCKING SONGS DO THEY GET.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY. I WAS GOING TO PAUSE IT RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE AND EMAIL YOU ABOUT LARRY'S FAMILY BECAUSE OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. So so so brilliant. I'm not too bothered by the creepy factor not being overly consistent because I'm not hardcore into horror and I find the show entertaining regardless, but it is better when it's genuinely creepy, and that was fucking fantastic. Loved the scene where Violet found out she was dead, too. I was expecting it, but it was beautifully done. I wish I could like Tate. It's unfortunate he's a depraved rapist because his protecting her would have been twistedly sweet otherwise. I mean, it still is if you ignore the fact that he dressed up in a rubber suit and raped and impregnated her mother, but. HARD TO IGNORE ( ... )

ALSO I AGREE ABOUT GLEE.

CLEARLY I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ON TV RN, OKAY. Like I couldn't even deal after this week's Boardwalk Empire. It was so good that I literally couldn't sleep after. Mind blowingly brilliant. It's not helping Dexter's case that I watch it right after Boardwalk, negl.
