This is probably the most fantastic video I've ever done. And when I say fantastic, I don't mean like OMG AMAZING, I mean like,
fantasy. I heard this song in the car on Wednesday, and for whatever reason was thinking of Lisa (duh) and then I got goosebumps out my head when I paired this song up with her. So I started this totally spontaneously even though I had planned to do a different song for her next. But it came SO easily. It normally takes me 2-3 weeks to do a video, and this one took two days. Normally I feel like less time = less quality, but not in this case. Because I really love what I've created here. I can't even explain how it came together this fast. And the whole time I was doing it, it just felt so... personal. It was weird, I don't normally feel like that. I felt off in my own little corner, like no one had ever seen her or me before. And I had my christmas lights on the whole time, and that really inspired the feel of this video. You'll see what I mean. ♥

Lisa's always alluded to the fact that she never felt like she fit in when she was younger. The idea with this is that it's because she sees the world in color. She almost sees the world through the eyes of a child - optimistic, imaginative, magical. That's what this video is - the color and the magic. She attracts magic, color, and sparks, and in return, spreads them to everyone she meets. Because this is the spirit I see in her. This video is about that spirit, HER spirit, her love for life & nature, and the magic that I see surrounding her when she's on screen, in pictures, or doing beautiful things with her time.
Not much on the commentary front for this one, because I don't feel the need. It is what it is. ♥ Get in your own little world with her and figure out what it means to you.
Song: "Bubbly" - Colbie Caillat. I changed the name to represent the video better, although Bubbly could have worked because there are actually bubbles in it.
0:11 - watch her follow it! everytime you see a single spark in this video, I had to plot its path like, every 6 frames. it was tedious, and it was hard, but so worth it to me. i had to draw the paths for ALL of the lights, but the bigger ones were easier because i could just plot the start and the end, and it'd sweep all in between.
0:35 - first spark i added. i had no idea it'd become the theme of the video, but it did. ♥ at first i had it tracing the circle, but then i decided that i wanted it to actually pass over her toes.
0:52 - complete accident. best accident ever. i went to open a different clip from that same show, of her walking down the street depressed, and hit the wrong file by accident. and what do you know? LKJDSHFA AN UMBRELLA THAT I HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT.
1:11 - hand on "know".
1:20 - smile on the cymbal crash. ♥ also watch the timing on "gonna say"
1:35 - one of my favoritesss. and then the laugh.
1:45 - i tried to make her look like she was actually saying "always"
1:53 - GLOWING ORANGE FLOWER. This continues the glowing flower motif (introduced in the second clip ever) in this video. I looked esp for clips of flowers, and every time we see flowers, they glow.
2:07 - HANDS DOWN, FAVORITE PART OF ALL TIME. I LIKE, SIT AND WATCH IT 50 TIMES IN A ROW SOMETIMES.
2:19 - flowers.
2:22 - SKJDFHAS. ANOTHER FAVE.
2:44 - now it may not look like it, but this was basically the hardest thing i have ever fucking done. 6 frames? YEAH RIGHT. for this one, because she's moving so much, i had to draw that light like every 2 frames. it took FOR. EV. ER. to get right, you have no idea.
2:49 - taxi parallel!
3:05 - her head shake on that guitar.
3:09 - hand on "you make me", and then "smile"
3:16 - OTHER FAVORITE THING AND OTHER THING THAT ALSO TOOK FOREVER.
HUGE huge thanks, always, to
pilot &
marykir for clips.
