Jennifer knew this wasn’t right. She shouldn’t be the one wounded, struggling to stand, eyes watering with the effort of focusing on the ground in front of her. She should be the one helping, healing the wound and making it all better.
Behind her, she could hear Ronon’s approach, and she grimaced, only half in pain. She could tell already that he was going to carry her back to the Stargate, despite the indignity.
“It’s okay, I’ll walk,” she said, but her words caught in her throat when she felt his arms surrounding her and lifting her ever so gently.
