As a passing curiosity,

do people have runic systmes, or alphabets, or pictographs/ideographs, that they like to use for smybolic work or for readings, etc.?

Wow, wasn't that a clumsily-worded question?

yes. yes.

;)

I have a series of symbols I use when taking notes, that give me clues as to what my logic path was at the time I was writing something.

I tend to use Elder Futhark most often, but with the research I'm putting into a new character, I'm gaining a familiarity with Ogham as well. Both are good for such.

um... my symbols are of my own design, and frequent to change, but are used fairly regularly. they're used in the same fashion as any typical set of symbols - visual representations of more complicated ideas - but specifically they're more of a personal vocabulary for understanding the vague vastness of "art," and more precicesly aesthetics.

i don't do readings with them, though i do symbolic work of sorts. they're, more or less, a way of maintining some sense of understandable argumentation in my often times very circular and chaotic logic - note taking, basically.

english can be a very difficult language to use when thinking visually.
