It is often only a matter of doing what thou must.

Must, or can?

If doing what thou art capable of will save a situation from growing beyond thine control, then yes.

And if the situation can never be controlled?

All you can really do is just try and deal with things as best you can.

I was told that as long as you make the choice you think is right, that's all that matters.

And when it becomes a cycle of doing what you perceive as best and facing the repurcussion of staying your blade, is it worth it?

If you think it's the right thing to do, then yes. Repurcussions can always be dealt with.

Even when it becomes the same thing, over and over, the beast unable to admit that rationality prevails?

If someone is hurt regardless of the choice made, then how is it defined as right or wrong?

Heh. I think-- I asked my mother this before, she said as long as your heart was in the right place, then it is right. But she always believed everything had a reasoning behind it, that every bad thing would have a good result of it as well.

I have no heart to place in right or wrong.

If the person hurt is someone people despise, it is justifiable?

You can ask that question and likely not find an answer you're satisfied with. Truly, I believe in the end it solely lies in what you feel is right. There will be beings who harm and kill others because they think so. But if you are virtuous, then you'll know what is right. Our choices are not always free of mistakes or pain, it's all a trial. How you react during the most turbulent times define who you are.

Though...Nerielle, I feel you will make the right choice, no matter what happens.

I would not think I was virtuous.

If it is not defense, merely to settle what I already know... I do not see the reason, and my blade will always stay. I have to know that decision is one that all will honour.
