Whooo, what fun! I didn't realize your next trip was happening so soon. I love that the 'this many miles to this town' arrows don't just point the direction, like here, but are all *wiggly*, like - curvy roads! Heh. Most just give you a direction to go in.
Those 'empty' statues are amazingly creepy. 'Snyrting' is now my favorite word.
Ponies! So fluffy. And you know, I get it, re: loving an animal and then eating it, but...I'd try cat or dog. Just...'cause. (And horse, too....)
There were actual 'northern lights' in missouri once, and they were *red*. I remember how very weird it was. I'm surprised they seemed grey to the eye and green to the camera - that's interesting! But at least you got to see them.
yep! i like to go in march/april-ish & then september/october-ish. breaks up the year nicely.
haha the signs were wiggly because they're describing the roundabout. :)
snyrting is so tough to pronounce that natives didn't even understand me. the "r" is not really "r" like & mildly rolled & not a glottal stop but that's the closest way i could pronounce it. icelandic is INSANE.
i appreciate the understanding. i figure i'll be okay so long as i don't eat pony again. only one pony can have died for me. *nods*
that's AWESOME. did you get pics?! as for getting to see them... just wait for part 2. :)
Yes, it does. I was thinking of the NASA/zero gravity thing, but that was more of day trip, really.
Yes but! What weird roundabouts. More like - move like snake. On ice.
Now i must google 'snyrting' and hear someone from Iceland saying it. *is intrigued*
Yisss. And really, it was shared out among many people, so - not so bad.
I didn't! It was years and years ago, way back when I was a teen. I just remember being a bit freaked out, my sister, too, because wth? It was like these very odd sort of...thin clouds of red color just slowly moving across the sky. Hard to see but very *there*. You don't think of the NL in *Missouri*, so we had no idea what it was, really. And who knows, maybe it *wasn't*, and was actually something else.
Google tells me it's happened a couple times before, but only showing dates in the early 2000's, so who knows. *waits for part two* :)
rye bread ice cream, sounds intriguing... yellow grape soda is grapefruit, makes sense, and in russian the word for orange actually sounds kind of like "apelsin" so both of those make sense.
