Aha! Much fun. I like the unsentimental look at make-believe! Also, Pansy and Draco are such a relief after the earnestness of Harry and Hermione. Not that I don't love Harry and Hermione, not that I'm not the earnest sort myself, but...well, sometimes competency *is* annoying, isn't it? Thank you! *glories in not one but two ficlets* Maggie
You're quite welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed them! And yes, sheer competency gets very irksome, as does earnestness. I'm not a particularly earnest sort so it gets on my nerves quite a lot.
Oh, I absolutely adore what you've done with my cracky little prompt! I love your Draco (and his knocking his head on the ceiling).
"Don't pout. You look twelve. And I didn't like you when we were twelve." Harry winked. = best line ever!
And it's just hilarious that Draco was terrified by Moaning Myrtle. And I love the sense of life-having-gone-on that this has, and that they *can* joke about it now. And Draco's last line = awesome.
So much love for this!
And the Pansy at work prompt is all kinds of adorable. I especially love that Hermione gets cranky about being fire-called constantly, and that Luna was a crap assistant but that it amused Pansy, and that Ginny is busy helping Luna with her herd of bizarre magical creatures. Hee.
Yay! I'm glad you liked it. I was going to do something HBPy but I don't have my copy with me.
I'd have been slightly scared of Moaning Myrtle, no one wants a ghost watching them in the bath and she was vaguely terrifying in GoF.
I have a fic in my head about Luna and Ginny's menagerie and how it upsets Molly that her daughter isn't doing more with her life than tending to magical beasties. Charlie makes an appearance to point out that that is also what he does.
What frightens me most about Moaning Myrtle is that the actress who plays her in the movies is totally in her *forties*. So fine, according to Wikipedia she was 37 at the time of filming, fine, but still, that's really uncanny. Seriously. I hope I look anywhere near that youthful in my late thirties!
Charlie makes an excellent point! :) I'd like to read more about Ginny and Luna's menagerie.
I'm so glad you liked this! I was nervous about writing it, because I was hoping you'd get round to reading it, and then that made me nervous, because hi! So I'm glad it worked for you. *wipes brow in relief*
I am indeed still open. Ginny/whoever it is! I shall get on it, tomorrow probably, being somewhat gin-ified tonight.
I may do some more actually. I need to have a think about it. And perhaps a re-read, though that may take a while because I've just loaned The Secret Country to a work colleague, in the hopes of getting him hooked as well.
I think I heard something about it. I shall have to add her lj.
