You know, it's kind of rude to peek into my brain and then write a ton of stuff I was thinking and then merge it into your own posts.

You too want to play an elvish assassin? ;) Or do you mean more about the time commitment and the cliques?

I meant, I'm already involved a lot of LARPs that I want to see through to the end. I don't have a solid concept, which isn't quite the same as "does my concept fit into this world" but it has similarly feeling problems, but mostly other people seem so excited, with full character concepts that are deeply intertwined with one another... My FOMO is pulling me in all directions right now.

Do you tabletop at all? I'm asking because a lot of the appeal of intricate characters and their histories can also be done without any LARPy immersion. It's much less time-consuming this way.

I have tabletop'ed, and would again, but my problem is usually a ) finding groups that are b) meeting near me and c) playing something I want to play.

Also, to be fair, the immersion is part of what I love.

I am easily excited... By games. So, although I had a lot of enthusiasm, I have to admit I have a lot of issue #1 going on.

For what it is worth, I think you know and like people on the two big teams I know about and could get invites to do stuff with them. Also, despite Team Hind being pretty darn excited, a lot of us do not have clear histories or builds. It really is about 50/50.

My advice is let it stew, and see what happens. This Fall is going to be busy. See how you feel after December. That is my plan, at least.
