Now I'm just concerned because the dress doesn't have clasps or hooks or anything, they prefer to do it with straight pins so you can add your own methods of closing it, and I just will not have time for that nonsense. So I hope I can figure how to close it with straight pins in a way where the pins don't show.
Augh I bought another dress I need an intervention.

Could you sew on some hooks and eyes? It's really easy hand-sewing. I do all my hand-finishing of garments while attending panels for pre-con ;)

You can kind of see the flat part straight down the center.
It would take a very special kind of straight pin to get through it.
I'm not sure if I'll have time to do the handsewing... I'm way behind on the bustle skirt, and the dress may not even arrive until the day before the con. I couldn't get any time off of work, so I won't even get to go to pre-con. We'll see. Maybe I'll have time Saturday morning. Maybe.
Seriously I have to stop buying dresses, I have nowhere to put them.
